Your link only shows a single, fuzzy picture of an envelope. If you want assistance in determining what these actually are, you will need to provide better photos of both the front and back of the envelope, as well as detailed shots of the cards themselves.

By the way, be aware that the "storage locker/estate find" narrative is a highly common scam wrapper used to try and legitimize fake items. We see claims exactly like this all the time trying to lure buyers into purchasing ultra-rare "internal prototypes" or "samples," when in reality they are cheap, modern counterfeits. Clear pictures will tell us exactly what you have.

There's a thread here that covers these cards ad nauseum.

Because this is a first-time post containing only a single blurry photo and a generic backstory, it fits a common pattern often seen with bots or scam accounts. If you are a genuine poster looking for actual help, you will need to follow up with the requested details. It would also be highly unusual for these cards to be the only thing found in that storage locker. Were there actual vintage games, modules, or other hobby items found with them, or was this envelope sitting by itself?

I bought these for a pittance on whatnot from a storage locker enthusiast. I hear what you’re saying about “context” (what else was also in locker but that I don’t know…

Yep, those are the fake cards. Glad you didn't spend a lot on them.

If you purchased them under the pretense that they were authentic, I would recommend you file a claim and get your money back while you can.

Hi.
I added 2 new pictures if you don’t mind looking again.
I’m a coin collector and am not unfamiliar with counterfeits.
But these cards… they really intrigue me… a lot of work went into creating them (besides the high quality of the art, the use of “stickers” where simple printing would do), etc.
I also looked on YouTube for processes by which counterfeit cards in general can be identified and nothing about these cards checked any of the boxes.

Do you know of someone who can make a conclusive assessment? The seller did say there were other collectibles with this AND a couple of other envelopes with different cards…

My spidey sense is really starting to tingle again. The last time that happen was about these very same stickers.

Fake hologram stickers are not ligit. Dont buy them on ebay.

Even without the second thread, it's pretty obvious they're fakes to anyone who actually understands the products they're mimicking, which is what clued me into them when I queried earlier about them several months ago. The selection of products used to create them is completely incoherent, being that a 1st print Monster Manual was used to make it, but then a later print Player's Handbook and Dungeon Master's Guide. Makes zero sense for a product like this would actually be. Amateurish isn't even enough.

It's probably also worth noting that many of the listings for them are full of lies, of which aren't even consistent and it's across multiple sellers(*ahem*). It's blatant scam and there's no doubt.

The first auction I posted is mostly gone due to its age, but the person who bought them paid $300.00 even though they were listed initially for $2,500. You can tell by looking at the sellers feedback:

Yes, as a coin collector, you should be very familiar with counterfeits, as that hobby is rife with them. You should also know that a counterfeit doesn't become legitimate just because someone put effort into making it.

The seller is either a liar or ignorant, and hinting that there are "more envelopes" is a classic hook to keep the sting going. Read the threads that bclarkie posted. These have been peddled for a long time by a nefarious group of sellers that scam people. These cards are quite simple to make with the right equipment and printing services.

You can take our word for it, or you can persist in thinking these are authentic. Normally, when someone finds out a "pittance" purchase is fake, they accept the verdict and move on. Continuing to press for a loophole or a different assessment usually suggests someone has either spent way more money than they care to admit, or they are fishing for information to validate or improve a product. Either way, you won't find anyone on this board to give them a rubber stamp.

Take a close look at the letter formations and numbers on the pics provided of the envelope and cards, then compare them to the yellow notepad from this fruit spread listing by the same seller of the holographic cards.

The seller "mrsnickers" oddly seems to have the same handwriting as on the envelope, these cards and this listing!

I think we might have discovered the scammer in another guise.
