What is the best way to take old tape off Grenadier boxsets?

Typically I use lighter fluid to get price stickers off, but I would love to hear what other methods people use to get tape and tape residue off of these sets (without ripping off the paint, of course).

Do you add the lighter fluid to the package before lighting it up or do you pour it on once it is good and going?  Personally, I think the presoak really helps.

You want to take the old tape off boxed figurines so you can reshrink them, I take it.

Geez, guys . . . didn't we go through this already?  Not STS' post; I mean the responses.  I think everyone's already shit on him the first time around.  OK, two of the three posts are funny.   :D

Any answers to his questions can be found via Google, so no one here is hindering him if he were to begin forging signatures, re-shrinking items, or removing sticky residue.

I've always left the tape on the miniatures boxes unless it is too ugly to look at.  In the latter case I just tear it off, paper be damned.

Rubber glue works wonders on sticky residue, though the paper on the miniatures box might tear.  Put some rubber glue on the stickiness, let it dry, and rub it off.  I haven't tried this in years, since I use soap, water, and a damp rag (seriously) to remove a lot of gunk and grime.
