Many if not everyone here is aware of this module by EGG published under the Dangerous Journeys system.
I was not aware of the fact that this module was in precedence drafted for an 'universal' system version by New Infinites!
I found this out by winning the following auction:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Now it'd be great if Frank, who ran the New Infinity press, could tell us something more since the draft I won was a well advanced stage of pre-publishing!

Thanks and ciaooo

That’s a great find, Axel—congrats!

It was mentioned in passing in the NIPI newsletter, where it was called out as an upcoming product.

Here’s some info about the pre-DJ version:  The Mystical Trash Heap: Gary Gygax's Necropolis - AD&D Conversion Notes (and in the three additional links in that post’s intro).

Allan.

Wow! What an amazing find, and thanks for the scans of the Preface/Intro, particularly because it reveals so much of his plans for NIPI to publish a continuation of the Greyhawk line. I subscribed to your Substack and left a comment on that post.

Thank you for posting this!

Wow, from that intro, it is very clear that the EPIC OF YARTH became the later EPIC OF AERTH.

Everything matches one for one on the description, down to the calendar being the same.

I'm just not sure where Dunfalcon might fit in, as it was never included in the later EPIC OF AERTH book, and Vargaard (North America) is very different from the Flanaess. Either Dunfalcon in YARTH was on Aeropa (probably on Lyonnesse) or it was on Vargaard, and Vargaard was dramatically changed to make it definitively "not-Flanaess" and so Dunfalcon city and castle also disappeared, later to re-emerge separately as Yggsburgh and Castle Zagyg.

Also, the Dangerous Journeys: Mythus rules were clearly in development even this early, or at least in proto-form, with the mention of the new system including Joss.

Does your copy include the details on the additions to the FANTASY MASTER system included from the EPIC OF YARTH (Appendix 2, p. 110-117)?

There’s some info about Dunfalcon in the NIPI newsletters, I’ll find and share if it’s not already on my Castle Greyhawk site:  grodog's Greyhawk Castle Archive
