Amusing, since the early Chainmail versions said "by Jeff Perren & Gary Gygax".
But I talked with Jeff about this before he passed away.
He felt fairly compensated, overall, and felt Gary did add a lot to his base work.

Consider that you can buy a 3D printer for $500 - $2000, it's only a matter of time when I can make my own mini's for whatever module I run that night!  :D
