Well, an interesting first post, certainly.

Are you going to expand on the individual that you are dealing with, as by the sound of it, there may be others here who are already aware of any dubious dealings.

Not that he needs it but I can vouch for Ubercat here. I've been acquainted with him for a few years on another forum and he's a stand-up guy.

Despite warnings on the Acaeum, I actually purchased some modules from hang_the_hobbits about a year ago. When I realized who the seller was, I worried, thinking I had just thrown $30+ down the drain.

Surprisingly, everything arrived in excellent and better than described condition faster than many other sellers I've dealt with. This is not to say that this person is always reliable, but I just thought I'd toss out there that sometimes transactions with this individual aren't always crummy.

I just reviewed the feedback and there is no indication of serious (or any) problems as a seller.

And, although they seem quick to leave negatives for buyers... I reviewed the listings and the seller feedback.  They definitely leave more negatives than most.  They also buy things that are obviously high risk.... like low feedback sellers who are selling dvd's and use "borrowed" images.  Most of the sellers they neg have very low dsr's and many have a ton of negative feedback.  

If HtH has

a propensity to neg when perhaps they should not... it's over shipping charges.  They seem to demand shipping refunds when people overcharge $3 or so for shipping.  And, they are willing to neg over it.  This is particularly problematic for people who are selling small books and dvd's and are trying to charge $6 for shipping.  Frankly, the sellers they neg shouldn't be charging that much for shipping things that can go out for a couple of bucks in an envelope and hang the hobbit could let dsr's take care of that problem without negs.

Further, there is no way I would buy from over half the people they neg...  and I thought I was one of the most free wheeling buyers around, lol.

As is usual, I no nothing about this vendor from years ago.  I just read and summarized observations from the feedback.

I will not be adding them to my blocked bidder list, because I don't appear to do the things that cause them to neg people.  If you overcharge shipping.... this buyer might scare you!  hehe.

That's a nasty scam but paypal/ebay can clearly tell if she is doing that.  The rest of us only see what is in the feedback.  I would presume they will suspend the account if it is clear that is what she is doing.

Be careful to protect yourself here.  A bit of discretion is wise.  It is far easier to prove libel than to prove fraud.  There are posters here prone to leaping across that line and presenting opinions as fact.

You can follow the processes outlined by ebay and paypal and gather information without creating liability for yourself.  And, as a bonus, the more careful you are about it, the more credible your arguments will be.

I have sold to her on two occassions. The first time she had some sort of beef and I am pretty sure I sent her some hush money. The second time went fine.
I need to go back and check my feedback, but it sure rings a bell. Maybe four months ago.
But to be honest, I get at least one of these deals every 30-50 sales.
Ebay has set the system to make it simple and without risk for a buyer to commit feedback extortion.

That's a lot more than I get.  Do you do gaming stuff only?  Wide range of stuff?  Curious about that.

But I do agree, the waters have been a bit more red these last six months.

If she posted it, you need to send the info to eBay and to the Post Office. That is mail fraud.
