I'm curious about what's going to be happening in the dealer hall next week and have found two things worth noting:
WotC:
Love 'em or hate 'em, it doesn't matter to much. They're still the gorilla in the room when it comes to pulling a rabbit out of the marketing hat. This year it's buy any
4E rulebook and get a
4E Player's Handbook for $5.00. For those of you curious about the new edition, it's not a bad plan.
Goodman Games:
In addition to their normal convention releases, they are offering credit (towards purchase at their booth) when you turn in
3E books. What's interesting is that they're talking ALL
3E D20 publishers. Granted the amount is low (10 cents on the dollar of the cover price for up to 50% off your purchase [$300 in books = $30.00 off of a $60 purchase]). They don't want ragged copies or torn pages (including written in books apparently) but if you have a shelf of
D20 stuff collecting dust, bring it to them.
Someone on their forums asked if they would be having a
D20 yardsale but there was no response that I saw. I wonder if they're going to turn them into the auction or something?
Has there been any other news that I've missed so far?
