New Increase in Ebay Fees?

I got a message from Ebay about listing 5 auctions for free every 30 days. This appeals to me as a method of reducing Ebay fees. However, looking at the details:

Ebay is charging more for the final value fees so Ebay makes more money for any item that sells for more than $43.88.

*Excludes items with a Start/Buy It Now/Reserve price of $18 million and above.

The Ebay fees (if it sells) would be $1,566,250. Little joke to buy the auction then back out leaving the seller to cover the fees until Ebay refunds :twisted:

I had to look at the page for about three minutes before I figured out where your number came from...

Actually, since I rarely sell, this doesn't bother me. It allows me to start at an asking price of $9.99 or $14.99 for an item I wouldn't expect to go for >$40, while eliminating the need for me to cheap out and start the bid at $0.99, just to see one bidder.
