This Saturday will be my first Free RPG Day... because of where we live (the nearest city/gaming story is about a 4 hour round trip for me), I normally never get to go to any cool events like this.

Well, it just so happens that this coming Sat. we are making our three month 'meat run' to stock up on food (long story), but it puts me right in town with the local gaming store who says they have major D&D events planned, and although I won't be able to take part in any games, I'm looking forward to experiencing it first hand and see what it is like.

The game store owner emailed me and said they would have a ton of free RPG products, but also expects to be very packed at opening (meaning stuff isn't going to last long).

Does anyone here know what will be available? I'd like to check out the stuff before I go, so when I get there I'll know what to look for.

Thanks!
D.

Is free RPG Day this coming weekend?

Yes, it is this coming Saturday.  I probably wont be picking anything up as I will be out of town.  But I think Mike is planning on picking some items up as usual.

I'm going to try and pick up some extra stuff through trades and stuff too.  I'll want to sell it, but Acaeum members will get it cheaper than e-Bay or Amazon.  It looks like nothing too amazing. :?

I'm not sure if there is anything in particular I am after but currently none of the gaming shops in my area are listed as participating so the point is moot anyway.

If I am able to get any extras of anything I'd be willing to help out any members out of the country or that are not able to get any. This is my first time being able to go to a gaming store for it, so I am looking forward to the experience. The store apparently will have 2 D&D games running that day (4e and 3.5 from what I understand).

Yeah, I'll be trading things to get these things, so it all works out in the end.  What can I say, I like new, shiny stuff! 8)

The "freeness" varies by store.  Some have a limit of x-items per customer.  Purchases may increase the number of free items.  Or not.

The Dragon Warriors intro looks cool, as does the Goodman 4E flipbook.  The WotC 4E module is probably standard 4E fare.

Thanks! I am looking to get anything that WOTC is putting out officially for 4e, as well as anything from Goodman or Paizo... both of which I like as well.

If you can't get the Paizo offering, they will have it for sale from their website next week, plus always as a free PDF.

Thanks for the heads up on that. I've been getting into the Paizo stuff lately, it is pretty cool, so I am interested in getting whatever they have.

Troll Lord Games will have something in the box, something similar to last years Quick Start Rules I think.

I was hoping to get to our ONE store in southern IN but I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it.
