My first D&D Module was the Village of Hommlet. It was a mono cover and I got it around 1982 from a place called Bristol Hobby. It mostly carried model cars and boats and whatnot, but they had a small shelf of D&D products that I kept being drawn towards. I had played D&D before this with school friends, but didn't own any of my own stuff. This was the first item I bought on my own.

A few years later, while in High School, I somehow got rid of the Mono cover one (more than likely traded it off to a friend as we often traded modules and books around in our group), I eventually got the full color cover version of the module and that is what is in my collection right now.

A few nights ago, on ebay, I saw the mono cover one for sale for $10 and it brought back some memories. So I bought it. It is the third printing (I have no clue which printing my original one was) and it is in pretty good shape, so I am quite happy with it.

It got me wondering, does anyone else remember their first module, or am I just being too sentimental? If you do remember it, do you still own it, and if so, is it the original one you bought back then, or is it a replacement?

The first one I ever owned I believe was T1. I recall making a 'module' of my own back then where the moathouse was restored after clearing it, and thanks to an alliance with the gnomes (for freeing the prisoners), it became manned partially by gnomes and men as a friendship gesture between the two, and became a base for our characters when the locals needed our aid.

The first module I ever played in was (again fuzzy) G1, which a friend owned.

I think mine may have been X1.  I know I ran some of the B series, but they were possibly my brothers modules.  X1 was included in the Expert Set.  Course my first adventure ran was the Bargle dungeon in the red Basic Set.

I did not buy my first module.

I never bought a module until the past 2 years in a cross between starting a collection, gleaning ideas and trying to get my wife to play..
During my playing years of the early~mid 80's it was all home brew by me and my brother, ending in quite a campaign

Technically the first module I purchased was B2 since it came in the Moldvay Basic Set.  But the first module I purchased by itself was C2.  I just loved that cover art.  The first module I played was U1.  Saltmarsh was a crazy place back then.  

I still have all the modules I purchased back then.  Even the stained B2 with separated pages, a torn spine, and staples to keep it all together.

For me it was B2 as well.

(and for for the Austalian audience I am talking about a role playing module - not the second banana in pajamas).

I think the first ones I purchased were Dwellers of the Forbidden City and Vault of the Drow.

You can't just go out and buy one module at a time

There was a group of 6 of us, when I was in the Navy.
We hung out together a lot.
One day, we found a TSR box set in a book store (in San Diego) and we bought it along with B2, and the City State of the Invincible Overlord booklets and some maps (And some other JG Items).

Later on we sent in a request for the G Series, and the Modules were shipped to us while we were at sea.... from that same store......
From that point on we visited that game store quite often when we were in port.
I recall there was a large city park across the street where long haired men and scantiliy dressed women hung out all the time.  
Could be that store owner paid the girls just to hang out there....

I also recall how thrilling it was for us all when the Hard Back books came out.

Of course I have NONE of that stuff now.
And I am quite certain ALL the old TSR books we got from that store were first prints.
Even if I did have them now, none of them would sell for more than the shipping would cost.
By the time I was discharged from the navy (Four years later) ALL of them were well past just being thrashed.
