I've searched the forums only to some extent and I don't post very often, so if this post is redundant - it'll break into bits.

For those who play and / or DM, do you have a favorite or worse adventure that you've gone through?

A fave would be The Lost City as a DM and as a player as silly as Zargon may have seemed.

The worst was The Isle of Dread where my character passed via the first DM.

The little bit I went through it yet it still was great would be Tegel Manor
The worst probably Undermountain.
Those both as players.

As DM its hard to say, if I didn't like it I didn't run it. I really can't say right now specifically..I keep typing in something them rethink it or think of something else.  May have to get back to this.

Bone Hill is the first one that comes to mind.

Ravenloft as a player and then later as a DM.  No question. 8)

G's,D's and Q as a DM. As a player, mainly homebrews, but I had a decent DM run us though Ravenloft. (IIRC I series mods are pretty much the only ones I went through as a player - all the rest were homebrews)

My favorite D&D and AD&D modules (pregen) to DM over the years have been B1, G1-3, Ruins of Undermountain, D1-3, I1, L1 and T1-4.

Favorite module as a DM, for me, is either S or T1, with some high nods to Tegel Manor and Dark Tower.

As a player, I've never ran through a module, or, don't know I have -- that is, the DM never said it was, or was not, and I've never really cared to do any checking to see -- some things are reminiscent now and again, but I think the DM, like me, culled only the parts he liked.

As a DM, Keep on the Borderlands.  Maybe more because of nostalgia than anything else, but I had alot of fun running this in my early years.

As a player, probably Slave Pits of the Undercity, although I got killed pretty early on by those bug men.

As a player, I enjoyed the G series and Tegel Manor more than anything else.  As a DM, Ravenloft was the most fun.

As for the worst....it would have to be S2.  Lets just say that the DM was a complete idiot and totally screwed up the whole thing.  As for me.....I tried to DM H4 for a few guys back in college.  Suffice to say it was a disaster.  :)

Oh, yes, I did fail to mention worst module I ever ran, as DM.

Toss up between C3 and Terrible Trouble and Tragidore.

Yep. Had to. Some things, like Under the Storm Giant's Castle (another favorite worst module,) are just so bad there is no choice but to see how it all comes together.

Didn't initially include the "made them myself" or "homebrew" as you've mentioned - that gets more complex to sort thru. Beats DIY D&D!

Aside: As people may have whined in the early days of D&D being difficult - it's amazing that no one created an Idiot's Guide to being a DM or Player.
OR, has it been done? - not something promoted here.

Favorite as a player was B4.

As a DM, favorite was the D-series, mostly because the players were good, and it was my longest running campaign.

Hi all,

I'd have to say that my worst experience DMing a module was WG10 Gargoyle.

Our regular DM had called in sick at the last moment, so I bravely stepped in, having had this idea that I could use Gargoyle as a one-session filler, but the module's jokey tone -- an unfortunate feature of Greyhawk products at the time, alas -- was completely at odds with our campaign, and I just remember the whole thing being a disaster.

Cheers,

People seem to really love B4... me included. Both as a player and a DM. but I've only completed it once or twice...

But I'll need to run it again to really see how it goes.

As a player the worst was N1. Worst for DM was B3 or maybe A1. And only because we were unprepared.

As a player...had to be Under the Storm Giants Castle. No question. We had a party of verteran first level characters - all within striking distance of second level and then BOOM (literally) they died from exploding balloonies within 30 minutes of starting the module. I think I am still in shock nearly 25 years later!

My favorite as a DM is really a difficult decision. I ran tons of TSR mods back in the day. It is a toss up between A1 and T1.

Hermit reminded me about the U series. That was a great time for me as DM; specifically U1 definately one of my favorites - the players were convinced they were after some type of undead fiend!

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!
