But the seller sent me a message in his invoice with another paypal account address saying the one associated with this eBay account wasn't working... I contacted the seller to verify and he said that it would be up and working in a few days... but I try to pay once or twice a day and it's not working. I'm so excited to get those Grenadier figures and I'm giving the core books and the PC sheets to a good friend of mine for his birthday... the rest I will probably resell...

Oddly I'm having the exact same problem with a seller who I won a bunch of Polyhedrons from. No contact at all, and he won't send me a combined shipping invoice. I always wonder in these cases if the seller thought the items went too cheap, and if they don't contact the buyer we'll just go away and they can relist and resell the items for hopefully more....

Can Ebay find these folks and raid there house for our items? I mean with their dedication to the buyers and all now.

I'd echo that patience sentiment.  Looks like the guy is into fishing, and that sort generally aren't exactly Type A personalities.  

The buyer's shipping details used to come up if they clicked a button telling the seller payment was coming in the form of check or money order, but the guy didn't do that in this case.  Otherwise, and now that Paypal is the only accepted form of payment, the addy comes with the paypal transfer.

Most likely. Since ebay has added check and money order payments to the 10 deadly sins, you can't use regular channels.

And it does not shock me at all that a guy is having trouble getting paid via paypal. Most people do not verify their accounts and that causes all sorts of issues...

The difference is I've contacted my guy 4-5 times and he's only replied once...

I would give it a few days. I frequently have to travel for my work and sometimes it is last minute - I am in construction and we also do emergency work - and that can mean I am in an area with now internet service.



So, be a little more patient and then try and contact ebay.

So I finally I pay this jerk via Paypal... but it's a "new" account that he forwards to me via ebay (so I know it's the same guy). this was on the 12th

Still no items... Now he's crying that Paypal won't give him his money, etc. I'm telling him that it's not my problem I paid he needs to ship, etc.

I opened disputed with Paypal and eBay... We'll see.

Won a VG+ copy of B4 from another seller... paid $10 for UPS shipping (figured what the hell I only paid $2 for the book) Still no sign of that with no response from the seller.

And the Aussie Dungeon! I won on Jan 29th has yet to show either.

So frustrating.

They are probably holding his cash until you leave positive feedback or he can prove delivery. It is a total bullshit rule and I do feel for the guy. They hold onto the shipping charges as well, so he has to go out of pocket and then wait until he can prove delivery or you leave positive feedback. Not a big deal if shipping is small, but if he has several items with large shipping charges, it might be a problem for the guy.

I think you need to re-evaluate your expected shipping times from ebay purchases. There are a large number of sellers who simply cannot get to the post office the day after an auction closes. Items coming from Australia can take a very long time - especially packages, regardless of shipping method.

General Rant -

I think a week or ten days is not too long to wait. In fact, I think getting something in that time period is generally fast shipping. I generally allow two weeks before I even send an email to check up in a freindly way.

Sure, lots of things show up in less time, and that is great. But it should not be expected as the norm. The important thing to remember is that most ebay sales - for rpg stuff - are not from full-time ebayers. They are regular people leading regular lives. That means work, kids, events, etc...Expecting people to drop everything and run to the post office to mail out a package from an ebay sale is simply going to give you headaches - which it appears you have right now.

Also, factor in the method of shipment. Media mail takes at least a week in most cases and can take up to two weeks. That is reality. Even first class or parcel post can take up to a week.

If it is coming from overseas, you need to give very wide berth. Those packages can take several weeks to arrive even if the seller got them in the mail immediately.

Now to be fair, sellers need to inform the buyer that it might take them some time to get to the post office. ALL of my auctions indicate that I can take up to five days to mail their item AFTER it clears my paypal account. And how long in general that form of mailing takes (i.e. media mail 6-10 days). It is in my item description and on the paypal invoice. Sellers should also drop a line indicating the item has been mailed - not necessary, but courteous. I do that and give the buyer a tracking number.

Yet, a seller can do all those things and people are still not happy. They expect the item to show up on their doorstep the day after they buy it. In this immediate satisfaction society, patience has taken a holiday.
