I have been trying to find print counts for all of the original & first edition books, modules, etc. I have not been too successful. Does anyone know of where I can get this?

For example:

Monster manual
3rd print: 200,000
4th print: 400,000

B1 Mono, 1st print: 500,000
etc.

I don't have your answer, but my gut tells me those are off by an order of magnitude, maybe two.  They seem closer to a final tally of all printings.

(Mind you, my gut also tells me to lay off the cheeseburgers and beer, so what does it know...)

I think some of those 1e hardcovers were way overprinted. They were selling them in JCPennys, supermarkets, Toys R' S, K-B, Walden Books, etc... I wouldn't surprise to see print runs that size regardless if they sold or not (though not the B1 mono)

Yeah, I made those numbers up : d6 * 100,000. I was just using them as an example. Thanks for the reply. I've been scouring many sources but have only come up with close to nothing.
