Hey guys,

been a while.... Well because this path of life has taken an interesting turn I will be selling most, if not all of my collection ( honestly have lost all interest in them anyway) . Some items have been given/sold to those friends of mine nearby but the remainder needs to be ousted. ( brown box, other rareities )

I just don't know how to do it... ebay ? or that other auction RPG site ( can't recall atm ) ? Basically either way it will be under my buddies user name as the funds will NOT be going into my paypal account... hmmmm divorce anyone ?

Anywhoots... need to start doing it, have procrastinated long enough so any thought would be appreciated.

i'd suggest for those items which are to be consdered rares to go as usual:

first a pre-sell here where you fix the price and accept free offers

second an auction on ebay

for those items which are not rares, rpgmarketplace could work pretty well!

in any case keep us posted! :wink:

Lordan;

First sorry to hear you are "getting out of the game".  I always enjoyed your posts.  Anyway, I would echo Aia a bit: Sell what you can off ebay to members of this site; Ebay has actually become an impediment instead of a help to selling gaming stuff, and if you aren't selling regularly there it can be a mess.  If something sells for a certain amount of money EVERY time, what is Ebay doing to help you except take money out of your pocket.

So what I would do:  Take out an add in the classifieds and the classifieds on Dragonfoot, with the prices you want (works well for the more common or cheaper items). State what rares you have and take offers; if no one comes close to what you want, THEN go to Ebay.  If you aren't in any hurry to sell, then I'd recommend RPGmarketplace for anything left over; no fees for listing or selling, and they can sit there forever at whatever price you want.  RPGmarketpace is more a venue than an actual marketplace, a nice place to direct people to if they are interested in buying your items and it gives a good platform for purchasing items.  Good Luck!

No, thanks; I've had my divorce for the year.  I'd take another, but I don't want to be greedy.  :D

The advice from aia and BadMike is sound.   You'll maximize your sale prices that way.

Alternately, you could sell everything here and on DF.  That way everything is sold when you want it, and you avoid eBay and PayPal fees.
