Hi Guys,

I was lucky enough to win this original painting by Walter Velez on ebay just before Gencon.

The seller (the agent of the artist) said that it was used around 1995 in "Birthright" or "Introduction to Advanced Dungeons & Dragons". I do not collect Birthright and do not have a copy of Introduction to Advanced Dungeons & Dragons.

One other hint (maybe) on the back of the painting is the phrase "p.21, #29".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations, that's a cool piece! I had got a couple other ones from Jill, and I've been trying to track down the Birthright books or modules they came from, too.

I have been dismayed for years at the dismally low prices for which published original fantasy artworks are sold.

A buyer's market indeed.

Hi Extsr,

This painting is a small one measuring 4.75" by 8.75". However, I did expect this to go for closer to $300 than the $150 I got it for.

Also, I think the market is just to small for there to be a lot of competition to move the prices up. I think this auction only had 5 bids.
