This will probably seem like a stupid question, but consider the source.....
I am unpacking my minis, and I have a good area to shelve them. However, the wood stove is in the same room. Would the minis expand/contract and have their paint crack if I put them there? The room gets pretty toasty when the stove is going. I would guess the range of temp will be 50-85 degrees.

Prob'ly.  Not so much a matter of the max temp, but rather of the fluctuations.  I wouldn't do it.

Thanks, Mighty Bombadil! I was of the same mind. What sucks about it is the shelves are perfect....
Ah well.

Display your figures in any "case" that isn't air-tight,  and you're going to get discoloration.  Especially if there's smoking in your house.

The display case that I have above my dresser has left a tan-line of dust on my top-shelf figures that has embedded itself into the paint.

I hadn't realized they get discolored, thanks. Phuq it, I'll just put them on the damn shelf. They aren't exactly competition pieces.
