Anybody there?  And comfortable with placing a snipe on a USA only auction on my behalf.  I'm good for the money.  It ends soon, so a very quick response is required. :D

Just curious, why do you need someone in the US to snipe the auction for you. I am based in Australia, have a broadband connection, and if I put my clock up on the screen, find I can always place a bid in the last 3 to 5 seconds - for auctions in any country.

Some auctions are set up to ship to USA-only destinations, but usually anyone can bid on them. However, there is an option you can use when you set up the auction to only accept bids from people whose profile has them residing in the USA - if we tried to bid on those auctions it would reject the bid.

It's caught me out once or twice - the only solution is to ask someone in the States to bid on your behalf.

Thanks. I see. Yes, I usually just ignore items that won't let me buy for that reason. A very good idea. If anyone needs a Buyer in Australia let me know!

Can still see you riding to and from work in the wee small hours with them on placing a bid on a 1st print :D (shudder)

:lol: Yes, that was about this time last year.
Having high speed internet at home now makes it a lot more comfortable, but a lot less dramatic  :D

It does get your heart pumping on the serious auctions doesn't it!

I actually discovered Ebay in late 2000 while in a country with limited net access. We had a very slow satellite uplink and one evening I registered and bid on AH's Titan. I refreshed about 5 minutes before auction end and someone had outbid me. I scrambled with the slow speed and eventually got another bid in. About ten minutes later when I could see what happened, I had won, my bid had registered in the last second!!! and was just 50 cents higher than my competitor. That hooked me!

Haven't tried the camouflage gear yet - I'll have to give it a go.
