Considering this newbie just bought this item today and has already left me neutral feedback, I think there was some misunderstanding on his part. Before I contact him, could someone please translate his comment?

I threw it in an on-line German translator, which spat out:

"Price too high (too late noted, my guilt)"

This is unofficial, but it appears the eBay translation is:

"The shipping was too high. I should have noticed, but I did not. I will, however, leave this Yankee dog a non-postive feedback."

Tood bad Ralf appears to not even be lurking â€” he'd hammer out the exact translation in a heartbeat.

I use the http://translation2.paralink.com/ translator when I need to as well. I bought Sage Lore Behind the Rose for 1 Euro from Hood.de and need some help with the correspondence.

But it looks like you have the moron buyer who obviously didn't read your auction considering he used a buy-it-now with the shipping prices all listed. If only literacy was an Ebay requirement.

Its moot anyway, as you do not even need him to retract it. All you have to do is to file a NPB and after ebay finds in your favor they will remove it for you automatically.

Yes they do now. You can check out some examples here:

Note that they even remove if it ends up being a positive if the seller never closes out the dispute. It is done automatically whether the seller requests it or not.

Damn it..I was wondering about this guy, he bought something from me but has yet to pay and no communication.

How long do people usually wait till they report an unpaid item? (I've sent invoice and even emailed thru Ebay)

Well, she already paid me for this item so I can't exactly call her an NPB. Although I do have her money and the book still and she has already left feedback . . .

In any case, I sent a somewhat lengthy email and also a Mutual Feedback Withdrawal request. Hopefully she can read English better than I can German and this can get resolved.

This is a correct translation, the one from Babelfish is not.

Preis = preis
zu = too
hoch = high
bemerken = notice
spat (with umlaut) = late
mein = my
Schuld = I don't know, but I assume it actually means "fault" or "guilt".

I usually do it around the 2-3 week mark. I'll resend the invoice a couple of times and email the buyer as well. I'll also glance at their feedback. If they have something like 500+ and nearly all positive, I'll assume they are delayed for some reason. Newbies get an unpaid item report much faster. Often, I'll wait another 2-4 weeks before getting a refund. Usually only newbies don't pay and the items are invariably in the $3-$8 range, so I'm not in a huge hurry to relist.

Well, the issue has been resolved. She accidentally left it for me and it was intended for someone else. :roll:

Mutual withdrawal complete and I only have a slight mar to my record that shows 1 Withdrawal on my feedback rating.

Oh well . . . she was very apologetic and felt really bad about it.

(By the way, Shane, she seems to be perfectly fluent in English, so hopefully you can contact her about the non-payment)
