A new site update is posted!  What's New

Also, I've fixed a problem with abrupt forum logouts that's been an issue for the past few weeks.

As usual, please post any problems you're having / errors you spot to this thread, or email me directly at webmaster@acaeum.com.

Very cool, thanks Scott!  As always, it’s great when the site continues to evolve and add new features!—thanks for all of the hard work :)

What more can you tell us about the search engine under the hood?—is it based on lucene or SOLR, or perhaps something cool and newer?

FWIW, I recommend:

- defaulting to an all words match vs. exact phrase match, unless the query is entered in quotation marks
- adding an option to collapse search results in the same thread
- consider adding some of the other forum search options:  date ranges, by author

Allan.

Hi Allan,

Yep, the backend is built around Apache Lucene.  I did implement your suggestions -- thanks!  You'll note that the "author" field (for forum searches) does a very fancy member-lookup when you start typing.

I'm continuing to make adjustments as I run test searches.
