misterspock wrote in Completed Spellfire artist search!:Hi, do you have examples posted of the five that you are still having trouble figuring out?
By the way, I think Ellisa is/was related to artist David L. Martin.... one of the many David Martin's, but his middle initial is L.
Sure! Here's a link, and the assumed styles.
Spellfire 4th Edition Cards: Finding All ArtistsCrystal Dragon Figurine: Arnie Swekel. It's a chonky boi in soft colors, like pretty much all his work for Council of Dragons. However, he has no contact information that I could find.
Draconomicon Remainder: Andrew Goldhawk. Complete match with his work for other card companies in 1996. However, he has no contact information that I could find. His website is defunct, and though archived versions had examples of his card work, Spellfire wasn't among them.
4th edition 145-153: Robert Lazzaretti. Complete match in coloring and style. However, he's only active in Tumblr now and I couldn't get him to talk. For whatever reason, he's staying mum about this one.
4th edition 388-396: William O. Connor (Passed away). The coloring style is a 100% match. And yet, he signed exactly none. In all other series of cards, he always signed at least one.
4th edition 415-423: Mark Forrer. There is a hidden sigil, horizontally symmetric, with features of both M and F in each card, and the art has a style match with previous work. However, all my efforts to contact him have yielded nothing; he's not active anywhere, not pinterest, not his blogs, not his old e-mail address. There's also Facebook, but I'm not there.
Thus, I hesitate to commit to these final block assignations.
