Hi everyone,

I recently acquired a copy of AD&D module G1-2-3 Against the Giants which is still in its original factory shrinkwrap and has Toys ‘R’ Us clearance stickers on the front.

What’s odd is, the module also has an approx. 1” square of beige/gray plastic affixed to the top center of the shrinkwrap on the back cover.

Does anyone have any idea what this plastic square is/could be?

At first I thought it might be the remnants a header/hanger which some modules sold in stores like Toys ‘R’ Us, Child World, Bradlees and so on had attached to them in the mid-1980s.  But after researching that here on the Acaeum, I discovered that G1-2-3 was NOT one of the modules that had this hanger header attached to it, so the mystery remains…

I’m even wondering if this could be a security tag of some kind, but I doubt the technology existed at the time for a security tag that small and thin…

It could be what a security tag was attached to and taken off on purchase.
