Hi guys,

I am looking for informations about the mini reprints released by 21th century Games. Why, for what, who, etc.
Does someone know a person involved in this? Someone who knows the publisher?

I know that this is an Italian publisher, so our Italian collegues, do you have any information? :)

Thanks!

Some info from a couple months prior to release:
Google Groups

Just some information so that everyone is clear about these products. TSR
was approached by a potential licensee who was interested in offering these
mini books as a collectible, impulse-buy item. Although certain distributors
have claimed exclusive distribution rights, and most consumers believe that the
reprints are being sponsored through a retailer, this is not the case.

In fact, as far as I know, TSR and this licensee have not even signed a
contract for these products. In addition, these products are truly mini-books.
THEY ARE NOT INTENDED AS USEABLE GAME PRODUCT (sorry for the shouting, but this
is an important enough message to get out). The books will be roughly 1/3 to
1/2 the size of a paperback book (maybe 4 inches "tall") with extremely small
type (probably somewhere around 6 point or under). They are intended as a
novelty item, and TSR does not expect them to be used (or very useable) around
the gaming table.

Again, I just wanted to let this information out so that if these products
do hit the market, everyone is clear about what they are, and know one will
blame WOTC/TSR for misleading folk.

Please, please spread this info around as much as possible. There is far too
much confusion about this possible release.

First, we're not making them.  One of our licensors is, at their
request.

In Europe, small "mini-books" ment as collectables or keepsakes are
popular; we don't have a similar trend here in the states.

When the original information was distributed, a lot of stores and
consumers were either misinformed or misunderstood what they were told
- thus the rampant rumors of a "1st edition reprint".  That's what
we're really worried about - that a bunch of retailers and consumers
are going to be very, very unhappy when they see the finished product
and it doesn't live up to its advance billing.

... and for bonus points, Malc chimes in at the end of the thread :)

The disturbing & violent comments by WotC show that they marginalize the needs of Gnomes, Halflings, & Other Modestly Sized Humanoids. Full-size copies are too large for the tiny hands of the GH&OMSH community. This is microaggression!

Neat bit of info here, from Alexander, showing a photo of the 21st Century Games booth at Lucca 1999:
Hey, look: the publisher of AD&D mini books!

And from an article Alexander wrote in DM Magazine #7, translated to English via Google:
"...21st Century Games, a company who she was born with very big ambitions, but ended ingloriously in less than a year."

Hopefully Alexander can pop by and offer more info.
