I have been reading through the Original D&D section here regarding the woodgrains and have not found a description regarding the covers changing for the 3rd Print Woodgrains.  All of the 3rd Prints I have owned (3 total), have the same covers which are different from the covers of the 1st Print and 2nd Prints.  Is this the case for all 3rd Print Woodgrains?  Was there a 3rd Print cover that was like the 1st and 2nd Prints?  I have attached a photo of my 1st Print booklets at the top of the photo and my 3rd Print booklets at the bottom of the photo.  They are completely different materials, colors, and textures.

Another interesting item is that the 3rd Print booklets are different from the 1st Print Beta Volume 3 listed here.  Here is a photo of Volume 3 booklets.  The first is a 1st Alpha, the second is a 1st Beta and the third is a 3rd Printing.

Different printer. See also this old post, allowing for a little wiggle room in the setting, perhaps.
And be darned careful when opening those 3rd prints so as not to split the spines. :)

Still plenty omissions and errors on the OD&D listings (even adding more relatively recently with the 6ths/7ths the wrong way around and not noting multiple printings of each).

Thanks.  That is consistent with my copies.  It would be nice to post some photos of the 3rd Prints in the Original D & D Section.  They are substantially different enough that the first time I saw one, I thought it was a fake.  I have also noticed different booklets in the 7th Prints.  Different cover materials and staple patterns.
