A completely off-collecting-topic question that will probably get me moderated:

Is anyone aware of any video showing either Gygax or Arneson DM'ing a game?  I searched around some, and only came up with a shaky-cam Youtube posting of Gary that lasted about ten seconds.  Seems strange that nobody thought to record a session with either luminary at least once.

Gygax was on the show "60 Minutes" back in '85

He didn't run a game that I recall. I can double check the transcript, but I don't remember him DMing.

Don't know what I am thinking of then. I thought they showed him running a game.

Arneson used to DM games here in Orlando at SciFi City when he was teaching at Full Sail.  They might have some video.

Well, it being 1985 I'd take a bet that they were grilling him over D&D being a satanist cult.

Only one I have ever seen is perhaps the one you mention, 37 seconds long Gary Gygax DMing White Box D&D - YouTube

I put this up as a topic on DF a couple years ago and no one seemed to have any other examples. I also saw it come up as a post on google+ recently  and this was the only one that came up.

Would love to see more if they exist

From SciFi City:

Not that I know of. To my knowledge, he ran some games at Sci-Fi back in the mid to late 90's. If you can find some, I'd be interested in seeing it!

Bleh.  I still can't believe that nobody pressured either one of them to record a session for posterity.  Though maybe they were pressured, and they resisted.

Has anyone thought about asking his son Ernie? He may or may not know.

Surely there are vids from early Gen Cons? At least one would think there would be.

I went to a GenCon when I was a kid in 82 or 83 and I remember him being there and think he was running a game. I was 12 so it's been 30+ years

Surely in the heydays of early GenCons he ran a game or two and someone filmed it

Surprised there aren't GenCon videos as well.
Anyone able to find anything out about videos?
