A book call Swords and Spells.

Also though in my personal opinion it would of been cool if WOTC could of reprinted some of the rare modules from the OD&D era like Dwarven glory,etc

Thoughts. I haven't played OD&D, just AD&D. So I don't know if S&S book mattered as much.

Dwarven Glory, Misty Isles, Palace of the Vampire Queen, and other classics have been reprinted in various forms.  Pacesetter recently reprinted many of these for example.  The original "white box" and other early supplements have also been reprinted recently:

If you haven't figured this out already, this is a great place to learn new things about your hobby!  

WOTC doesn't have the rights to reprint any of the Wee Warriors items....they only distributed them bitd.  And they have already been reprinted by the NTRPG con and Pacesetter.  Look for another reprint next year at NTRPG con  if things go right...

Ok I was not certain about how needed some of these books were. I mean you already have 3 books that cover spells I believe.
I've never read or seen the OD&D books other then through online means. So I do not know the popularity of said source ( swords and spells) and module books.

On a side note a friend of mine who is a player in my campaign Paladin Sir Jakothia (see my blog)
Wanted to know what version of D&D he should buy I said if you can afford it the AD&D books as we are playing that with Holmes basic.
Yet I also said he might prefer 3rd. What would be a good choice?

I'd put the dividing line at 1982/83, with not-old-school beginning at the orange-spine, 1st-edition AD&D books, Dragonlance novels, & cartoons. Anything with a KG/lizard/wizard/face logo is old school.

I would say that is about right.  Personally I would include Monster Manual 2 (published 1983 I think). ... In fact personally I would include Unearthed Arcana and Oriental Adventures but I recognise that that point may well be controversial
