1) The Perleman copy of the TSR Players Handbook
For those not familiar, below is a link to just one of several threads about this book.

I still have the scans I made a few years ago (the compressed folder of JPegs is 24 megs in size).
Whatever happened to that awesome book?
Last I recall it was still making it's world tour; I think someone needs to fess up...

2) Old friends and/or antagonists who no longer post and may not even lurk

3) Common old school TSR modules selling on e-Bay for less than $15-$20, even in mid range conditions

Gnat,

Hard for us newbies to miss what we never knew (#1 and #2 are out for me)...

As for #3, I also miss less expensive mods. I used to get play copies of books for myself and my son, but even the worn, dirty copies have increased in price. And who's buying these damn things anyway? ;-)

Seriously though, this is the first I've heard of the "Perleman copy". Looking forward to more info on that.

Still, I like the digital age, all the medical advances, the decreased threat of nuclear attack, improved communication and transportation, less pollution, microwave ovens, and so much more. There are things I miss, but I do not want to go back.

The Perelman PHB is pictured here in my avatar along with The Shrew. Basically it's someone's old PHB with lots of writing and annotations in it from a precocious kid who was just learning to play 1E from a long time playing OD&D. And then the actual guy eventually posted here one day after a google search turned up his name and he gave us some additional background on the book. Some funny stuff there. At one point it ended up at Gencon in my hands and started accumulating signatures. I'd love to see that bad boy again.

I spent a few hours last night reading through the old messages on the Perelman PHB... wow, what an interesting story.

Is there any way to take a look at it? If the person who has it around GenCon time is going to GenCon, I'd love to see it!

I miss being a member......

Been gone so long I am waaaaaay out of the mainstream on collecting.

But I believe I will get back into collecting again since I will start up selling on eBay again this fall, for once with spousal support
