FRC2 Curse of the Azure Bonds

Starburst on cover indicates, "Compatible with the AD&D and the 2nd Edition AD&D Game Systems."
FRC2

What I believe to be a 2nd printing

Starburst on cover indicates, "Compatible with the AD&D and the AD&D 2nd Edition Game Systems."

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Yeah it's minor but I love finding print variances  :D

Cheers,
Curt

Any indication on which printing was actually first?

Don't think we can be sure, unless someone has both and can spot an actual difference.

I found auction listings of each with back cover pics (where most of the variants of this era I turned up differed) and took a look.  Same address, price, part number, ISBN, UPC, etc.  The only clue I can see is part of the text on the back cover which says "for the AD&D 2nd Edition game."  If we assume consistency was the goal, then the picture already on the acaeum may have been a mistake, corrected by the version Curt turned up.  That's my only guess, as I see no other hints.

Agreed. I cannot definitively confirm based upon current information.

I bought my copy immediately after its release back in 1989.
It has the mention "Compatible with the AD&D and the 2nd Edition AD&D Game Systems".
It is surely the first printing, unless the second printing was carried out immediately after the first.

That fits what we were thinking.  What a refreshing change!   :D
