Looks nice. It is odd, though, that their advert doesn't speak to the composition of the box. It looks like wood. Is it? Or is it merely cardboard. That is the first feature that grabs my eye when I look at the product but they only mention the contents (not that this is a "bad" thing....).

Am I the only one that wonders if this is a wooden box, kind of like a cigar box?

I'm somewhat curious to know, too, whether Eldritch influenced the decision to commission new spiky cover art.

The real question here is whether they replaced the (crude) Succubus art in Eldritch Wizardry. Since she's standing and giving everyone a full frontal shot in that book, it would make sense if the art were replaced. If they did, then you can say the nudity and the clevage were the reasons.

My belief is that the covers were replaced for the same reasons as on the AD&D reprint books:

1. To preserve the value of the original volumes.
2. To make it difficult to pass off the reprints as authentic 40 year-old originals.

So what is book number 8 ?

Probably the case... didn't we just read in another thread Greyhak's cover art was recovered in a dumpster... good grief  

He still has the original artwork for Deities & Demigods. According to an email discussion a few years back, it was the only item in his collection he couldn't bear to part with when he liquidated it.
