Of course I'll be there.  Can't say I'm in the Gencon mood yet.  Winter blahs got me right now.

Martin.

I will be there running the OSR booth again. Learned a great deal last year and it should be much improved. I have doubled the space to create a better space and easier browsing. I will also take off Monday after GC so I can get the housekeeping done. This year I floundered pretty bad after the show!

Excited already for a great convention. This will be 21 for me even though I only attended six in the last 13 years.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

I'll be there talking up my WotC and Paizo products and projects. I plan to actually play more games this year and spend more time in the trade hall. I do VIG every year and already got my hotel room set.

I'll be there . . . I've been registered for over a week!

And at the Downtown Marriott too.

My son is planning on going with some of his friends again too.  It would be a family thing, if I actually ever saw him there.

blimey,a lifetime (nearly)!

I would ask, bearing in mind how much time you've spent at the gencon auction what item do you most regret NOT buying, and what are you hoping might come up next time? A bit of a random ask I know but such are the questions that trouble my mind on long, lonely night shifts. (And have you seen any other person in the auction room every time you go?)

You can never have too much of something you didn't need in the first place.

to answer your last question first, Tom Wham I believe has been to every Gen Con (and was the lead auctioneer for many years), whereas my first GenCon was GC11 in 1978. I believe Frank Mentzer started at GC12.

while i could make a good top 10 list of ebay items i wish i had bid more on, i don't have any big regrets from the GC auctions. it probably has something to do with the nature of the auctions: on ebay one has to guess, but at GC if your arm is up you're still bidding. mind you, there have been some cool things sold that i wish i owned (blume's dragon won by the burntwire brothers and  tim kask's staff won by bracton come to mind), but they were outside my sphere of collecting and were being won by acaeumites, so i was glad to see them go to good homes.

since i've recently knocked off my two biggest want list items (a Jade Hare with cover and a 1st print Tunnels & Trolls) i guess i'd be hoping to pick up some domesday issues i'm missing (3,4 or 9).

How does one early register.  Everything on the Gencon site says registration starts at the end of this month??

If you were a VIG last year you can register early for your VIG this year (at a discount as well :) ), also allows early access to hotel registration.

Hi,

we're in the Westin this year, for a change.

Haven't got flights booked yet tho.

We're thinking of flying to Chicago, and driving down from there.

Cheers,
KAL

Well, planning on making the drive from CT in a new little camper my wife and I bought.  Not sure where to stay yet, likely outside the city proper...

This will be my first GenCon ever!  At 44, I'm finally making the trip.  I'm focused on buying for the collections as well as hoping that my FRPG submission wins!

Also looking to go to NTRPGCon and Origins a few months before.

Can't wait!

Devon and I will be there. No VIG this year for us, not really worth it as we don't need a hotel room.

Glad to see Malc and Karen are making the trip again. :)

That's the age I went to my first every gencon, so good luck!  Doesn't Contrarian always camp out when he goes to Gencon?  I think there is a campground not that far from downtown.

p.s. I wish I had gone before I had to plan it :-)

Thanks Mike.  I'll message him to see.  Hope you to meet you in North Texas first, trying to pull all the trips together...
