I received the GW mini blisters today. I've taken pictures (4 packs to a photo, to keep it to a minimum). First pic is the back of the card, which appears to be identical on all of them:

The price stickers on the packs show the stock #s (G-X):

I'm not sure why, but I think the most interesting part to me is the full color card.

Areas of interest/knowledge: Harn, WFRP, Ars Magica, anything BRP based such as CoC, Runequest, Pendragon and all their related games

I agree. I'm dying to know what's hidden behind the blister and sponge. I'm tempted to open the one duplicate carefully, so I can see better.

Isn't that just a blow up of part of the illustration from the original boxed set?

I see that some (most?) of the blisters are stapled. Try opening one of those blisters first. The staples indicate that the glue has given way.

No, after I wrote my previous message I realized that it is the same as the illustration on the Grenadier GW "Adventurers" boxed mini set (0005). I'll have that soon, too

, and will post the pic. It's a line of "adventurer" types walking single file through the blasted urban wasteland.

All of the blisters are stapled, at the sides and bottom but not the top. Makes me wonder if these were ever glued (I see no glue residue or other signs of deteriorated adhesive) at all. In my mind's eye I'm picturing some guy at Grenadier back in the day with a tiny stapler assembling these packs for shipment.

Or it could just be the glue started decaying and the store owner stapled these, as you suggest <shrugs>.

If someone knows anything for sure one way or the other, do tell.

Those Gamma World blisters look neat; almost makes me want to start collecting minis... Almost!

It looks odd, but is the price sticker under the plastic blister? How did that happen?

Yeah, the price stickers are mostly under the plastic (or at least the edge of the plastic). Since the Grenadier stock #s are on the stickers, my conclusion was that these stickers (MSRP?) were placed on the cards by Grenadier, not the game store. I doubt most FLGSs of the day (1979) were printing up custom price stickers for each product.

Does anyone know when Grenadier started producing the AD&D line? The GW line seems to pre-date the AD&D line by a bit. I've found one print ad for these (in Dragon #25, appropriate b/c it was the "Gamma World" issue), and the DMG wasn't released until later that year..

I can tell you that some lines of blisters used horrible glue and some used terrific glue. Grenadier and Ral Partha usually had pretty good glue for most all their lines. I suspect, since you can't see glue residue, there's a good chance they came stapled. Another clue is that all the blisters are stapled. Chronopia and Warzone blisters had some of the worst glue in my memory.
