So, I win this auction on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0538469817

Silver Anniversary set mint in shrink. I get it home, open it up, great. Nifty stuff to look through for sure. Today I sit down at my desk, and start bagging and boarding the individual modules from protection. Then it hits me.

It's missing G2.

The module is flat out NOT in the box, period. It's got G1, G3, L3, I6, B2, S2, the art print, the Holmes book, and the history book. No G2. And unless somebody lifted the TSR sticker thingamajig off another set, opened this one, stole JUST the G2, reshrinked it, then reset the sticker, I'm gonna have to assume it came this way. :( What a kick in the junk lol. Guess I'll have to piece this one out to recoup some costs and buy another one. Anybody else hear of this happening? I think I'm pretty much out of options.

Man that sucks, but it does happen, but why don't you just keep an eye out for a seperate G2 from the set and frankenstein it?

Lucky that it is not the L3 which is missing  :?

It sucks, but it happens. I'm a games retailer and I stumble regularly in shrinkwrapped INCOMPLETE games  :?  Mind you, it's not very frequent, but when you move a lot of games this starts being noticed. If the products is brand new or from a still active company, getting replacement parts or copies is not a problem. But for no more in business businesses  :P    :x

I'll second that. I come across incomplete new shrinked items a couple of times a year, and I'm just an eBay reseller. It could be a mispacked item from the factory.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

This is just my foggy memory at work, but I do remember problems with several of the brand new SW Silver Anniversary sets missing items back in the day.  As Smarmy might say this is just one more reason NEVER to take off the shrink!

You made a big mistake there: you grabbed a SW item to open it. If you wanted a full set, you could easily have gone for one of the many that come up. But if you get a SW one, it's a Schrödinger cat: until you open it, it's 50% complete and 50% incomplete, but once you open it, it's either 100% complete or 100% incomplete.

At least, this says quantum physics applied to D&D collecting.
