When I stroke your pages, I'm not thinking of all those other guys in your past, it's all about you & me. I know you've been through a lot, & that some experiences are triggering. If I could get my hands on that gamer dork who wrote in you like you was nothing, I'd unleash a troll-killing sword like you wouldn't believe. But let's not let that spoil our time together. When it's just you & me, it's like it's the first time all over again & I'm a kid who don't even know what a fantasy-role-playing-war-game is. Did you know you're a classy volume? I could see you on that early GenCon floor, lookin' all fresh from the printer, the intoxicating aroma of ink still on you. We would roll them dice while the dance of consulting your charts begins & the excitement grows. When I take you into the bathroom & lay you down across my pale, bare thighs, time just stops & it's just you & me. None of those other guys count, just you & me in my collection forever.p.s.Don't pay no mind to that retro-clone in the corner. I was just having a little fun, you're the real classic.

faro wrote in Interesting Items Currently on eBay:(actual) 1st printing of the 3rd edition; much rarer than a "3" and in far better than usual condition: appalling cardstock for spine splitting but clean, square corners and general lack of spine creasing should hopefully receive a good report if there are any other questions to ask the seller. Just ask them to be careful if opening the book and please don't request flat-pressed scans of the internal pages as the spine will be a mess afterwards! (The generic 3rd edition valuation is way too low in this case, IMO) ** expired/removed eBay auction **

faro wrote in Interesting Items Currently on eBay: strange; "Preview" isn't working - I managed to lose my message twice by doing so - can only "Submit" direct then edit afterwards...

The 1st print is described as "Cover is yellow-orange, and has now reverted back to heavy parchment-like paper."Doesn't exist afaik although I'd be happy for someone to produce a scan of a genuine copy after a decade; same vein as the 4th- OD&D and non-T1st Greyhawk which are no longer listed or the 2nd Lizard Greyhawk noted thereon which should probably also have bitten the dust. ymmv. $100 was a very good price for that Chainmail just sold, I think, despite the seller's cautious evaluation of condition; they're not far off 2nd edition Chainmails, combined, for rarity - probably abandoned that format asap given the spine-splitting issues...
