Which of course I was glad to provide.

The portfolio was released by the RPGA in 1982, but printed in very limited quantities (approximately 200). According to Frank Mentzer (a TSR staff member at the time), very few of these were actually sold, and the rest presumably pulped.

It was posted in this thread while it was still going, but I wanted to bring it up once more.Final price $236.03... and this one has a torn corner on the box bottom.Even so, a nice price for the seller.Of course only the future will tell, but I do not believe this is the limit for this box set.

I think the only big question mark regarding the portfolio is if any of them have enough collecting experience to realize they may not get many shots at a portfolio. These seem to come along about once a year and get placed in near permanent stable collections. These could easily end up surprisingly expensive in ten years as many of us will be in our 50's and at peak age relative to collecting interest and discretionary income. The 50's have always been the collecting sweet spot between getting kids out of the house and worries about retirement.

But is any vintage TSR print by a known artist in a surviving print of 12 worth less than at least 1/2 of what you suggest for the entire portfolio. I have never been one to tear up books for the illustrated plates or to split art portfolios for profit. Nonetheless, there value has to take into account the fact that some dealers do so.
