I think its probably because of the typecasting.

Apart from Jon Pertwee, and arguably Peter Davison, all the early Doctors were "defined" by the role.

Eccleston resigned because of this, plus he really couldnt handle the fandom - very private person.

I saw him on a chat show, when he was shown his doll for the first time, and by the look on his face you could tell he was appalled.

A quick rant.....I've just asked a US seller to quote me on 20 or so books to the UK.  Their reply was...shipping is too expensive!!!!  Why not tell me how much it is and let me decide.  I know its damn expensive.  I reply back I know its expensive and tell them I was expecting it to be about $100.  The reply I get is...It won't be worth it for you.   AAARRRGGGHH!  They are talking themselves out of a good qualified bidder.  So frustrating Rant over and thanks for reading.  Goodnight.

Send a message back and tell them "money isn't an issue, you can afford the cost". Just to see if you can get a price out of them.

Anyone catch the last race of the F1 season from Brazil?  What a race!  Talk about a dramatic ending.  Lewis Hamilton almost lost the championship to Massa but got it with a couple of corners to go.  Both teams were celebrating thinking they won immediately after the race - then Ferrari got the heartbreak.

Probably good for the sport that a Brit won the title though.

The looks on the Ferrari team before AND after they found out Hamilton won the world championship . . . priceless.  

Even the U.S. announcers on Speed Channel turned into fans the last few laps--with no dog in the fight, it was just as if they were in the stands at Interlagos!    

Now if we only could get F1 back in the U.S., especially with no French GP. British GP moved to Donington Park, and no Canadian GP (?).

All car racing is pretty much a snooze fest....unless you are talking about a bunch of drunk rednecks driving beat up 70's or 80's souped up junkers around a dirt track with no protective gear other than an old helmet and some coveralls.  In those types of races, the opponents are encouraged to smash into each other.
