Interesting feedback.  Just to gauge where you're coming from, what did you think about Deadpool and the last Wolverine movie (the one with a heavy Japanese theme)?

I haven't seen those, and hadn't realized that we hadn't seen the Japenese one (or if we did, it made no lasting impression ).  FWIW, thematically/tonally, this fit well with the pre-apocalyptic timeline from the original future from Days of Future Past, as well as the earlier Wolverine: Origins film.

I thought I'd share this.   Heard this on a radio show this morning driving to work.  It's not a show I usually listen to, first time I heard of it.  

So the set up is these two radio jocks have a "flip a coin" segment, apparently.  So you call in and tell them about some life dilemma you have, give them two choices and they flip a coin and that's your decision.  

So just as I tune in this guy is telling them about his D&D campaign.  And the radio jocks and this caller have a brief discussion about D&D and what it is, how to play, etc. for background.  Then the caller gets to his question.  His group is about to start a new campaign and he has to decide between playing a Paladin or a Rogue.  So they all talk about this back and forth for a bit, as he explains the differences between the two classes.  The jocks and the caller all had some fun with this.  It was actually pretty funny to listen to, and that's not usually the case with these shock jock shows. (At least for me)

In the end, they flipped the coin and the answer was - PALADIN

One of the best lines was when the D&D player was trying to describe a bit more what the Paladin is and does, as the radio hosts didn't quite get it.  And so as the caller describes the class one of the jocks finally gets it and said:  "Oh....Okay...so being a Paladin in D&D, that's like playing Grand Theft Auto and following all the traffic rules and never committing any crimes!"  

"Yup!"

Just like the last movie, they are already announcing a sequel.  I could see this franchise going five or six movies, maybe more.  It's a solid, summer, money-making formula.

I saw the movie in IMAX and did not regret it.  There are FIVE bonus scenes after the credits!  And all are worth the wait.  Theaters were giving out free posters yesterday, and they had some leftover for viewers today, and I got one.  Don't wait until it comes out on blue ray or HBO.  8)

Agreed.  I went to see the movie this afternoon, and came away very pleased.  The studio definitely amped up the comedy in this installment ... but the story was still very, very comic book-ish (which makes old comic book fans like myself very happy ).  Guardians of the Galaxy, as a franchise, is in an excellent position to start digging into some more old school intergalactic Marvel lore (i.e. the Starjammers, the Shi'ar Empire, etc...).  Basically, it's what Green Lantern could've been for DC if they hadn't completely botched up their movie.

Stay out of trailer parks.

Try to sell her on Plano or McKinney.  Both a bit north of Dallas, but very nice (and very popular due to the quality, and position in DFW area).  Tornados are a fact of life in northern Texas - no way to avoid.  But I have a buddy that has lived in Plano for 15 years and has never seen one closer than the distant horizon (a small handful of times).
