I wanted the Necromancer's Book. $15 wasn't horrible for it -- and, its going to be traded for a larger, more valuable thing, anyway, so I figured why not. The rest... umm, yeah. A bit on the end of high.

Where do we start with this one?  First of all there's the ridiculous BIN price of $300.  Not even sure if the $75 opening bid price is worth it.  The real kicker is the $50 shipping cost for media mail

After seeing that this seller had a second auction with a $50 media mail charge as well I reported it.

The seller did reduce the shipping to $30.  Still an obscene amount for media mail.

This one really caught me by surpise. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't recall seeing one of these go for anywhere near this price before:

This is why you have to love Troll and Toad.     They listed this last week at $1,600.00:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

And not very surprisingly, it didn't sell. So what do they do in response to listing it too high and it not selling? They list it again, only this time with a higher starting bid:

Unexpected high price for a fairly common item:

Looks like a bit of "noob" action going on there.

They are harder to find complete than some boxed sets. The maps and 24 handout cards especially. The set itself is crap, post Gygax lets emasculate the campaign stuff that came out at that time. The city is ridiculously small and nothing compared with the complex lankhmarish style that Gygax wrote about.

It only takes two or three collectors in a genre to drive the price up for some time.

Wow, can anyone remember Lance losing an auction for a rare?  If it's happened, I don't remember when.

A "DM" copy has never been auctioned on Ebay before therfore the Acaeum price was at best a good guess.  Now we finally have a value.  Congrats TFM for buying this incredible piece.   :)

I have beat out Lance a couple of times but not very often.  The last time it happened, I beat Lance but didn't make it past TFM.

Anyone know who 0***m (1608) is on that list? They've just popped up on another auction I'm interested in and if it is someone here I'd prefer to leave it.

Wow... There are two sitting on the shelf of my local mall bookstore. I guess I'd better stop by to pick them up today and throw them up on eBay :). That's just ridiculous; you could buy two Dwarven Forge sets for that price. Does anyone have an explanation for it?
