Actually the site seems to have been down for several hours today. Can anyone else get on?

It's down due a drive problem... it when down in the night some time... I am attempting to verify the sectors and reallocate them to get it repaired... drives aren't that old so not sure the reason.

I'll get it back online as soon as it's done...

then I'll get a new server configured and move it this weekend

Ok...

The drive problem forced me to restore from the Friday morning backup at 0400 ...

Anything on the site from Friday at 0400-until about 0400 Saturday is lost...

Sorry, was the best I could do...

So, you'll need to relist or possibly resign up (looks like 3 users signed up Fri and are missing....)

I restored the site to a different server for now, not it permanent home, but I wanted to get it back online. Also, instead of a full server image once a day @ 0400, I am going to schedule some hourly SQL dumps as well to at least not have to go back more than one hour... just hadn't got that far in my setups yet as this wasn't a priority project :( ... but I'll make it one now.

Doug

Doug, might this have affected invoicing? I'm trying to raise an invoice for an item just sold but keep getting, "There are no uninvoiced sold items for this user.", even though no invoice has previously been sent and no payment made.

I wouldn't think it would effect any processes as the backup is a full image of the server at 0400 Fri ... so it's not like it went offline abruptly ... it ws a good image with no errors...

What's the item/auction # you can't invoice and I'll take a look at it.

what were we talking about anyway?

I can't remember. An adult beverage may help me remember, or we could talk about adult beverages instead.

Danny, I think that is the same message I was getting when I tried to invoice you for the two Chaosium monographs that you won on my auctions.

Check out my Chaosium sourcebook.

megnelwil: Jason also reported this problem as well... but previously to the system restore like a week ago... so far those are the only 2 reports with invoicing problems... others have been fine...

but since that's 2 out of 20 .... I need to contact the devs and see if I can have them check it out

So I need the auction numbers for both Jason's and yours to check

Hi Jason, yes I recall you mentioning that now. Doug, remember I told you about that double sale problem? It's happened again on this transaction, maybe it's just a display problem as the system is still reporting the correct number of sales. But I'm not sure now whether to delete one and process the other. Auction ID is 100338. In sold items I have two entries both with the same ID and both unpaid/ unprocessed.

Doug, the problem with double entries in items sold is intermittent. The system is now showing just one entry, unless you removed one.

Here's another one. The copy of DGEO you won no longer appears in my records. I only noticed when I tried to leave you retrurn feedback.

You have to be real careful on the auctions...

For instance, if you send an invoice, but decide to delete it since you'd rather send one form PayPal since you can't discount invoices on the site... well, you delete the entire auction from your list and thus can't leave feedback... you also lose all "messages" back and forth on the item...

I complained about all of this, as it is how it was designed, but they are looking to change it since I haven't been the only one to complain...

As far as the double entry... well, they sent me a file to fix it.. problem is, since I have some mods installed (ie: edited PHP files) .. I can't just overwrite the file with the one they sent... so I tried to compare the 2 and add what I found that was missing ... well, I was able to do so on one of the two files... but not the other since it was grossly different and was missing previous changes they had sent me before...

They asked me to send my file and they fix it, but I never heard back.. so I'll get back with them.... but they were able to duplicate the the duplicate sale thing so they were able to fix it (at least a stock install would be fixed)

Doug, on the category listing pages might it not be better to remove the advanced search panel, go with basic search and a link to advanced search instead so the listings appear further up the page? Currently you have to scroll down all the time to see the listings. A minor thing but eBay users might feel more at home.

Not sure what changes you have made but the listing process now seems to be bug free and the problems I reported a while back are resolved.

Apart from the bulk lister, which I find confusing to put it mildly, is there a page I could post a CSV or XML file to or something similar so I could automate the listing process using a custom export tool?
