DENVER -- Former Denver Broncos running back Travis Henry has been arrested following an alleged cocaine deal, the Drug Enforcement Administration said Wednesday.

Henry and James Mack were arrested a day earlier after the two met to buy cocaine from a person who was cooperating with authorities, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

Mack and Henry were in federal custody on suspicion of knowingly and intentionally conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine. They were advised of charges Wednesday. A preliminary hearing and detention hearing were scheduled for Monday.

This is Nate Newton and his truckload of weed level of stupidness.  At least this means Henry won't be toting the rock....err, football...for any NFL teams anytime soon.  

Another football note:  My high school alma mater is making me proud:  #1 in the NATION in the preseason polls, and they are so far undefeated this regular season.  I watched them tonight on local TV as they took on a district rival and crushed them 45-3.   Euless has one of the largest Tongan populations in the nation, and the influx of the polynesians the last few years has led to two state championships and possibly another this year. Go Trojans!!!

Did you see how they sent a priest to bless/baptize/whatever the dugouts in the Cubs stadium?  That's enough voodoo to freak anyone out that there is indeed a curse, real or imagined.  They are cursing themselves trying to get rid of something that isn't, or wasn't, there.  Please!  

Every professional and collegiate sports team has their crazies.  Please dont lump everyone that is a fan of one team in with them.  Most Cub fans I know are just passionate about the team.  But they are fans through it all every year no matter what the outcome.  And that is more than I can say for a lot of the fairweather or bandwagon fans that make up the fanbase of some popular teams.

I dont believe in curses or voodoo or anything like that....but after what I witnessed last night I dont know what to think.  How does a team with one of the best defensive infields make four errors in the game?  How does the most consistent pitcher at Wrigley Field (Dempster) over this season give up seven walks in 4 2/3 innings?  And how does the team with the best run differential in MLB score only five runs in two games while giving up 17?  Pressure is the only thing that I can think of.  You would think that these players who make millions of dollars a year are used to playing with pressure but I honestly cant fathom what it must be like to play at Wrigley Field in front of those fans knowing that it has been 100 years since a World Series has been won by the Cubs.

This whole mess probably pisses off the people at FOX more than anyone else.  Their World Series numbers will probably be down considerably this year.  I know I dont much care for a Tampa Bay Rays vs. Philadelphia Phillies World Series.  Boston vs. LA might be interesting but pretty much anything else would suck in my opinion.  

I try not to over-generalize, but in my own experience I have met some strange Cubs fans.  Masochistic comes to mind.  Persecution complex is another possibility.   Maybe it's just me.

I wouldn't count the Cubs out yet.  They have a talented team.  I also don't believe in curses, but the events of last night were indeed strange.  The Steve Bartman interference was strange.  It ain't over until it's over.

Ebay stock fell to $16 a share today, and I won't be surprised to see it at $10 by the end of the week, almost a year to the day it was at its high of $40 a share.   Also on the horizon:  Ebay is about to get it's ass sued off in a class action dealing with shill bidding....

The Forbes article is also a good one, although it only touches on the core of the problem, which was the complete and callous disregard and actual contempt shown to their loyal customers by Ebay and it's management.  Ebay just laid off 1000 employees this week and more layoffs will come. Hopefully a resurgent Amazon and a just getting into the swing Google will sweep the remnants of Ebay off the table into the dustbin of history. I'm switching about half my inventory to Amazon and RPGmarketplace by early next year, really too bad it had to come to this.  I feel sorry for whatever company bean counting schmuck takes over after Donawhore gets the axe.

I watch hockey during the playoffs only.  It's the only time I can get interested in it.  Do enjoy the playoffs, though.

Wow, I didn't know much about the Blackhawks, but I read the wiki about him and had to laugh at this line, after his death:

During a tribute and moment of silence for him during the Blackhawks home opener on October 8, 2007, the Chicago crowd displayed their displeasure with Wirtz's operation of the organization by booing the proceedings.

That's either indicative of how tough the Chicago fans are, or what a piece of crap the guy must have been.....

Edit:  After more research, it's unanimous...Wirtz was a piece of crap.  So glad we have guys like Mark Cuban and Jerry Jones as owners here in DFW instead of wingnuts like Wirtz.
