I didn't like the look of the books.

The Tricolor is actually Mint, C & R is in great shape other than the library tags on front.  War of Wizards was in very good shape.

I was being lazy by putting them all up as one

That's the reason I almost bought it. Was it complete? Doesn't that one have game pieces? Just curious for future reference.

I am not sure about that- I do have a boxed version from TSR that is near complete (1 chit missing), but it has larger, oversize manual.  The one I sold I had purchased in a lot and it did not come with game pieces or a box (though it very well could have originally). I always assumed that the Box set I had was a later version, but never did the research to confirm.

The first printing is just the booklet with the GK logo.  The second printing is just the booklet with the lizard man logo.  The third printing is the box set

Don't forget the yellow cover version; also advertised and sold via TSR before their own first printing. :)

Good to know.  I would love to see a scan of that one if you or someone has it.

This one looks amazing.  If the "curved" one was worth over $400 (if I remember correctly), why is no one in on this at $325?

Interesting lot of books here.  Looks like a first print Player's Handbook, A first print DMG, but the first page is ripped and looks like a fair amount of staining, a first print Dieties & Demigods, and a second print Monster Manual.  AND almost everything has cool fantasy stickers in it!!!  Wouldn't be so bad if the DMG wasn't ripped  :(

The highlighter and pencil may be affecting the value a little bit.  The cover does look excellent.

In my opinion, if a book was perfect otherwise, but was "curved", I would grade that book as Good. Since almost everything has some other issues, it probably should have been Fair. What is it worth? Well all of our mileage varies, but I'd say $100.

Now the book above is much better than that. The outside looks very nice, but without pictures of what the highlighting and pencil marks are like it's a bit of a gamble isn't it? What would I say that gamble is worth? Maybe $200. Whoops, he wants $325. Oh well.

I would think that anyone that would want a 1st print MM in collectable grade would always be looking for one "better" than this (since it has highlighting et al). Why would one overpay so for a placeholder copy?

On top of my opinions about quality vs. cost issues, the guy cut and pasted info straight from the Acaeum without any credit or thanks.

That's around what I would value those books still in the shrink, not opened and loose. Wow. Sometimes you make out good with auctions, sometimes not so much.

Not the first time they've sold high, though. Nor are they at all common in fine condition out of shrink.
I can see a few unlisted faults in the pics for those two: hopefully the spines, corners, etc., are OK.

Even for the genuinely more common items... :)

Given some high sale prices recently, looking like a pretty decent run condition-wise if the chipping on #6 and name inside front cover are the only "faults";

http://www.ebay.com/221775867837

Seller lowered the price on this lot from $250 start, $400 (possibly $500?) BIN to $188 start, $288 BIN.
A bit surprised the auction's still running at the new BIN price: hopefully enough advance notice to ask for any further pics if required, anyhow. :)
