Two sales and two purchases for me and it's great to know that my stuff WILL arrive in good time, WILL be in great condition and WILL be packaged properly. Barring intervention by the Royal Mail, of course. I feel absolutely confident buying from RPG Marketplace. Plus when selling I can now charge shipping at actual cost because I don't have to pay ridiculous fees. I don't have to pay any fees at all unless I'm paid with Paypal. I think there's a big future for the site, we're in the early days right now so things will seem a bit disjointed. Plus, this isn't eBay so it will all be a little strange to begin with. I do think a lot of work needs to be done by the software vendor on the interface though.

Honestly I feel bad, I've been wanting to list about 500 items for some time now, and now with the postal rates going up May 1st I've been using my spare time adjusting my Ebay listings to reflect the new rate, plus I'm in San Antonio next weekend, plus I have a comic book convention to work the weekend after....hopefully after THAT I can list some more so the site looks a little less empty.

And yes I agree with Megnelwil one of the great things about the marketplace is that you KNOW everything will be taken care of and packaged well and all that.  And, when the postal rate goes up, I'll just keep the old rate on all my RPG marketplace stuff since it will then be close to actual rate, no need to charge extra there.

Same for me, except it's about 300 items. But my masters at work are driving me like a slave right now. There's nothing I'd like more than to win the lottery, ditch the job and get into selling full-time. I can't believe how much I love the whole RPG scene after so many years away. One problem, I'm having a hard time winning the lottery. Must be fixed.

Good idea on the postage BTW. What's a few pennies in return for being able to say you ship at LESS than cost? I'll be doing that too as our postage costs go up in April(?). Mind you, when the Royal Mail announces a price rise it's best to hold your breath until you learn how big the hike is.

I would appreciate there being a column for the BIN price. I do not like having to click the item to see how much is wanted for it.

I don't know exactly how long the site's been around, but it looks like it has warmed up, and that's good.

Do you guys know if it only works for north-american buyers or should I expect sellers to be able to safely send stuff down to South America?

serleran: I'll have to check on how this could be added...

brute: on the main page there is a recently Listed Auctions section below the 2 rows of featured auctions... you can click on the "View All" and it lists all Newly Listed Auctions from newest to oldest

evilRafael: the site is for anywhere in the world.. but you'll have to find a seller willing to ship to South America... or maybe you'll have to take the risk of shipping to South America if you know the buyer. Only sellers are screened, buyers are not... but a bad buyer can easily be banned (and I might even create a banned buyer list should it ever become necessary ... then again, I can delete and ban them from the site if ti gets that bad)

I was actually asking as a buyer. I've browsed a bit and most AD&D products (at least those that sparked some interest) seem to come from the same seller, who explicitly states won't ship down here. :)

Anyway good site, keep it up.

Well, that's probably me... I have put a some rares on the site and many have sold... and I don't ship out of country unless someone here knows you well or I have done other business with you in the past.
(shipped to Denmark last week to Bombadil, but had BadMike do it for me, I have sold and shipped to Bombadil's US address ie: fiancé/wife? on previous transactions)...

In any case, feel free to ask about shipping from any seller as some may ship to Brazil.

I am also the one that charges the minimum $9.00 for shipping, but I only cover cost about 50% often time... everything comes in a box, packed well, FedEx Ground, with insurance, and signature required... the only way I will ship in the US, no exceptions.

A few more items are being posted by various people it seems, so nice to see more stuff... I have ton more to put online, but am waiting to see more stuff from others put online...

and while I am at it... i will post it here one time... if anyone wants to "subscribe" to any of the stores larger than the free 25 item store, please do and let me know... for a limited time I have been bumping those users to "preferred sellers" (you have to be verified as well) and thus you get a 100% discount on all fees (so it's all free, the store and the main page feature option)... I won't post this again, and I won't say when the offer expires... but I was hoping to see more Acaeum members not be afraid to sign up and thus there would be more stores... maybe this will help a bit...

Ah so it's you! Bastard!! ;)

I don't blame you for sticking to safer methods and destinations. These sales over distance are a real pain in the ass, specially when you don't have an elite strike team to shoot down cold those that don't pay you, like the mob would do. They knew how to do business!

Congrats on having a 1st print OD&D for sale :)

Ok, DON'T sign up for the larger store first...

let me know first and I'll set your account as a Preferred Seller... otherwise it wants you to pay the $4-$5 fee first .. then I have to refund and change your status...

When looking at newly listed items, its nice to see when they were listed, instead of when they end. Any way for me to do this (nothing in Help or FAQ yet that I can find).

Thanks!

Awesome, thanks for making the request!

I like seeing everyone's discussion on improving the site. Maybe it would be most efficient if there was a thread here only for enhancements etc. Of course if that thread got bogged down with chat it might not be any better than this one.

Cheers!

I find chatting about general daily events quite soothing.
Calms the soul so to speak.
In any event ......

what were we talking about anyway?

Doug, 4 times this past week there have been short periods (15 - 30 mins) when the site has been unavailable. Always pre-noon UK time. Is this due to ongoing development/ maintenance?
