So a certain Acaeum member had a few fun finds over the weekend. Perhaps we will be lucky and be graced with some pictures?

This is the Shrink Pile I picked up this weekend...

And I picked up some of this as well...

The OB3 was sitting on top of an auction pile of D&D mods, and I was like... holy crap the top bid is only $55... So I mega-bid it and won the lot. As I'm talking to the 2nd place bidder, some guy named "Steve" claims he was the editor of the OB3 and said that might be a reprint... lol... (Who is this Steve anyways?).

Actually, I'm pretty sure that is a very inexpensive reprint. I can't imagine why you would want to keep it, Andy. I'd be happy to take it off of your hands.

Wow, a pick-up like could be once-in-a-lifetime! Is that your all-time Fun Find?

Aside from the obvious choice shrink items, supermodules, and the OB3, personally I love picking up collections like the Car Wars items... a run of goodies that a previous owner collected and played and enjoyed. Sort of, I don't know, more satisfying that a hodge-podge of random items. To me anyway.

Tremendous lot in any case, congrats!

I draw the line at collecting... D&D beach towels.

My all-time Fun Find was about five or six years ago bidding against the Troll and Toad rep at the Games Plus Auction. I got a D&D boxed set with the Jade Hare module in it [And for the record, the auctioneer did say there was a Jade Hare module in it] (with the mailing envelop, thank you letter, etc.).

For $5.

Yeah... this one topped it... it was close though, moreso because I beat Troll and Toad on a bid probably... :lol:

- The OB3 SW is torn above the 1st quarter of the module, and the upper right hand corner has a bend in the cover. I wonder if this was because he opened it to see the module, and/or just bad packing for the auction. It was on the top of a pile of D&D modules, wrapped cross-ways in rubber bands. (sigh).

- I picked up the Car Wars and Marvel Superheroes lots for $10 and $12 respectively....

- And after all the excitement has passed. I'm truly excited about the LC - Raven's Bluff folder...

Nice craigslist find the other day.

OD&D 4th print.

Box is a bit worn, but seen much worse. Books have some light marks and stains on covers, but otherwise in great shape. One of them has the center pages off staples, but otherwise bound good still. No staple rust that I could find. Bought from original owner, and he did stamp his name on box and back of all the books, but not a huge deal.

Only real issue is that one of the Reference sheet pages is missing (did not notice that when I picked it up). Missing the title page and a some treasure data (when comparing it to my complete 5th print set anyway, but under impression all the reference sheets were same info, just could be ordered differently and different fonts and such.)

Still not a bad find and think I got a decent deal on it.

Mine were all loose packed, not nested as a booklet, so not sure what order they belong in.

Only 4 sheets though, unlike the 5 that are in my 5th print box.

None of the pages say anything about errata, so probably the page I am missing along with MISC Weapons, Potions, Scrolls, Maps, Magic and Treasure tables.

Never have found a good resource for knowing differences if any in reference sheets.

Still looking for a copy for my 6th print set, but not sure if it would be correct even if I found one.

So nice little bit of collecting today. Guy I know is moving and needs money so was going through old boxes of game stuff, and knowing I collect asked I wanted to take a look at any of it. Found these amongst the items that I still needed. Some other nice items I will help him sell next month as he does not want to do it himself. Paid fair for most of these, he didnt realize they had much value, so told him not to toss anything he finds till we talk!

Condition wasnt great on some of these, but still, take what I can get.

Palace of the Vampire Queen - 1st Print, a bit beat up, and missing intro page, but complete otherwise with only a small amount of pencil writing on a page or two.
Character Archaic - 2nd Print, missing cover and many of the sheets, all are written on. He swears he has the cover somewhere, so if it turns up will at least get it back.
Tegel Manor - 1st Print/4th Release - Missing the character list, but otherwise nice condition.
Revised City State - 3rd Print, complete.

So I recently found this in my drawer of collectibles. It has copyright 1980 TSR Hobbies Inc and manufactured by Bergamot Brass Works Darien Wisconsin on the back. From what I have found, it is 1 of 20 made and extremely rare.
I wrote to Bergamot about it. Anyone else have any idea of value or info on it?

Awesome find, Wyvernlord! Glad to know this stuff still exists in basements and attics yet to be discovered... too bad about the missing pages but still a great find!

That must be an interesting drawer you have there! I'm not an expert on the buckles but they can certainly bring a few dollars. Frank Mentzer is probably the best authority to ask on the scarcity of these. I believe he is going to be at NTRPG con for the next few days so he may be out of pocket.

IF you do decide to part with it, I'd be interested.
