Romeo is bleeding is a superb piece of filming. one of my favorite Gary Oldman films.

Army of Darkness for me, is about as hilarious as a horror-genre film can get...classic stuff

the good the bad and the ugly is my 2nd fave spaghetti western. only beaten by once upon a time in the west, because i always felt Henry Fonda played the best baddie ever.

and our man flint...how can you not like that

not quite topic related guys, but if anyone knows the film, you guys will.

i watched it likely in the late 80s or early 90s.

its about a cop, who is chasing a killer/vigilante or whatever she is. he eventually catches up with her and they possibly fall in love (cant remember but i think they do at least get it on etc)..... he eventually finds out she is either a demon or a devil. in the end, he goes with her to meet her parents and they are also demons/devils....

kinda strange film but wouldnt mind watching it again but cant remember the name....

any ideas? sorry i cant be more specific, but only saw it once a very long time ago. cant even remember who played the parts...

I'm so old I can't remember anything but thanks to these lists I do rember I loved The 300 Spartans and The Sword and the Sorcerer was the greatest B movie ever followed by Strange Brew.

Others I can remember would be:

The Man Who Would Be King
The Life of Brian
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Planes Trains and Automobiles
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
The Year of Living Dangerously
The Deerhunter
Saving Private Ryan
Braveheart
Dragonslayer

No categories because I don't remember enough for top fives. The greatest TV show ever of course was Green Acres.

I messed around on google for a bit trying to find this movie... tried words like detective girlfriend demon devil parents movie chase capture meets. Is there anything else you remember?

Demons are Chaotic evil and Devils are lawful evil is the main way I think of it, but that's just because of the Monster Manual. But for those who have never seen or heard of the Monster Manual, I would think many people think of The Devil (aka Satan) when they think of devils, and demons are viewed more as shadowy figures of nightmares and malicious interfering. Devils talk to you and demons hide in the shadows. Devils are more likely to have pointy tails, horns, pitchforks, and have some handsome qualities. Demons are just ugly. The evil guy in the movie Legend is more like a devil. Al Pacino does a pretty good devil in The Devil's Advocate. When I think of a demon movie, I think of The Exorcist or The Amityville Horror. But that's just me. :twisted:

Top 5 Films, or film series, that I have seen recently that I thought were worth watching again
1/TT - Closer to the Edge....Even if you don't like motorbikes this film is awesome. Made me feel glad of the human spirit that there are still people brave/foolhardy enough to do this stuff.
2/REC and REC2 ...the Spanish original versions. I didn't know they made films like this anymore:). These films made me feel like I was watching horror movies for the first time again. They are frightening. The subtitles just add to the authenticity.
3/Mesrine1 and 2. French gangster movies that form a 4 hour epic story.
4/Avengers....first film I have seen in 3D since Jaws 3D. It was better than Jaws 3D.
5/Sherlock Holmes...the new ones with Downey Jr and Jude Law.

Hey at least it was only $4.99. I paid full price (at the time $6.99) to go see The Crow: City of Angels at the theater when it came out and ended up walking out halfway through the movie it sucked ass so bad. The manager wouldnt give us our money back because we stayed through about half of the movie. Apparently you had to leave within 15 minutes of the start time to get the full price of the ticket back. We were so pissed we dumped our half empty popcorn tubs and drinks out right there on the carpet in front of the ticket booth and walked out. Not that it mattered a whole lot....the place was a filthy shithole anyway. :lol:

By the way, saw The Shawshank Redemption the other day for the umpteenth time. Damn excellent movie in just about every way.

And has anyone seen Take Shelter? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1675192/

I've been looking forward to seeing it since I saw the trailer. It has received some great reviews from critics and movie goers alike, not to mention acclaim at the Cannes festival. Curious if anyone here has checked it out and what they thought?

I kept waiting for some kind of supernatural explanation as to why the wolves were hunting the men, which would have improved the movie tremendously.

Al, could the film have been "Spellbinder"?

In other movie news, I watched "Drive" on Netflix last night. Grisly but great! My top 5 films would include:

Went to the pictures last night and saw Prometheus in 3D. Very goood. And there was Ridley Scott saying there wasn't an Alien in it and it was seperate from the Alien franchise. He did have me worried but all is now well

Didnt care all that much for Seven. Way too dark for me.
Top Gun? OK movie but all the homo-eroticism pretty much ruined it.
E.T.? Loved it as a kid...now I could care less.
Wizard of Oz? Sucked when I was a kid...sucks still.
The Amityville Horror I've never seen. Why watch a movie when the book scared me shitless when I was a kid? I had nightmares for weeks after seeing the damn trailer.

Porky's? Meh...stupid flick. Even the T&A was crappy.
The Gods Must Be Crazy I never watched cause it looked stupid.
Old School? Maybe not as funny as Talladega Nights or Step Brothers but not all that bad.
Adam Sandler hasnt made a decent movie since Happy Gilmore.
Bruce Almighty I watched simply because Jennifer Aniston was in it. But you seriously can't say that Liar, Liar wasnt funny. That movie had me rolling. :lol:

Spent a good half hour or so talking about two movies with a co-worker today that I really need to own because they are just full of awesomeness: The Three Amigos & The Cannonball Run. Heck, the outtakes on Cannonball have more laughs than most full length comedy movies.
