Well, another reason EBay sucks.

Due to the Pad Sale, I had let the items already in EBay's system sit a while so I did not have to worry about conflicts between the two.

Last Sunday, I started relisting up to my monthly maximum to keep the stuff in the lists (as anything over 60 days gets scrubbed). I waited a bit in the hopes that I would get a 'special' and relist the rest during the week. No go there, so I go to relist the remainder today (even though it would cost me insertion fees), only to discover the items are no longer in the system. I had a couple of days remaining.

Now I have to redo every one of them.    It may have been small-fry compared to some of you guys (about 35 items) but it's a pain to write everything up again.

Oooh, that feeling you get when the owner of the local comic book store calls you and tells you that they just found a large box of D&D modules in their warehouse and is holding them for you to get first crack at it...

Nice!

I had the local comic book store call me a couple years ago, said he has someone at his counter looking to trade in one those old small D&D box sets and did I want to talk to him?   I missed the call, got it on vm, and by the time I got back to him, the fella was long gone :(

I hope you have better luck!

I draw the line at collecting... D&D beach towels.

One of my favorite found items stories, the guy who runs the local comic book store knows I was always out looking for D&D stuff. So he calls me one day and says a guy is in and wants to trade or sell a huge pile of D&D items.  He said he made an offer but the guy didn't want to deal, so I was welcome to come up and make an offer myself. By the time I get there, the guy is gone. The guy who owned the comic store said he offered him about $60 for 100+ items and the guy left, insulted, saying he was going to the local Half Price Books.  The guy who runs the store also says the items were all shrinkwrapped  8O   But the dude left a phone number....I call it, and the guy with the modules says he's sorry, he just sold them all to HPB a couple hours ago. I zip up to the local HPB store just in time, the staff there is pricing them. I told them to price them and I would take them all, no matter how much it ended up being. Ended up being a copy of every regular TSR module ever published in SW, including the R and RPGA series, supermodules, and lots of extra goodies (lots of SW boxed sets including World of GH, City of Greyhawk, Bloodstone Pass, etc). It was pretty much everything from 1979 up to 1990ish, still mint in SW. Came to about $1000, and I had a 20% off coupon...

The follow up:  There was a good sized box of early AD&D and Marvel Super Heroes, including 4 MSH boxed sets I needed.  I got the box at a reasonable price for the 30 or so items in it, but nothing in there too exciting.  A few highlights:  A Greyhawk Wars boxed set (complete and unpunched), a MSH Advanced set complete, several early AD&D mods (various conditions), including Ravenloft, Lankhmar (w/ map and booklet), Mystery of the Snow Pearls (w/ viewfinder), and a dozen or so books in poor condition that I'll sell for $5 or less.  All in all, a fun find but nothing amazing like Badmike's story.

If anyone is interested in anything listed above, let me know.  They will otherwise find their way to the FB auction page in the next few weeks.

The first 3 items up on the FB Auction page:

Greyhawk Wars Boxed Set
Marvel Super Heroes Advanced Set
Marvel Super Heroes Webs

Later in the week I'll have several mods including Ravenloft, Mystery of the Snow Pearls, and a handful of other less expensive items.

Also, anyone interested in a crunchy 4th Alpha print of a Monster Manual?  Spine and cover damage but interior is very nice.

Say, did you hear about the Scarecrow that won the Nobel peace prize?

He was outstanding in his field.

Can't. I wasn't foolish enough to sign my life away to a guy who considers his users to be 'stupid f***ers'.
