Actually; I think the following is the time line for Logo's on the Greyhawk Supplements.




The Original Logo (G/K) was present for the 1st and earlier 2nd prints of the Greyhawk Supplement.


The Lizard Logo was present from the LATE 2nd printing through the 10th printing of the Greyhawk Supplement with the 10th printing released in late 1978...


The Wizard Logo was present only on 11th and 12th printings of the Greyhawk Supplement.




Some of the above is guesswork as (other than my 1st prints) I do not have easy access to my OD&D Supplements at the moment.


I shall look for them later to confirm.


I am quite sure I have a 3rd, 7th and perhaps a 10th print Greyhawk.

This seller describes his Greyhawk as an 8th printing - 1978 and it has the Lizard Logo.


FWIW: His BIN ($84.95) is quite rediculous... Even if that was a First Print in that condition, I would not go there.  


Even so, it is not the most rediculous BIN for a Greyhawk on e-Bay.

The GH 2nd Lizard still doesn't exist afaik. Well, none has turned up in the past 6+ years to the best of my knowledge.

(or read as...) The lists of supplements and OD&D box sets still have obvious omissions and errors in various places, so until something is proven once again to exist, I'd prefer to presume it doesn't.

Doubtful, given that Jim Ward's T1st, alpha (sorry, couldn't resist) copy went for 25 bucks or thereabouts. But then, that was in an even sorrier condition than that copy up for sale.

There is a crap load of great information at Tome of Treasures.
I also use it as a reference on occasion.
(most recetly to help figure out printing info for EotPT Box Sets)

Just like any other web site members facts and opinions can be incorrect at times.
This site has errors as well.
Many of them can be traced to a certain beggar...

I dunno... The run is only missing a handful of issues, and shipping is free. You could do worse than <$2 per mag if you were of a mind to jumpstart a Dragon collection.

I agree it is not in the least rediculous.
After all, I did post the listing here rather than the rediculous price thread.
But I do think the BIN is optomistic, even with FREE shipping to USA.

And yes, if I were looking to collect Dragons this listing would be of great interest in that regard, espcially as there is indeed a "make an offer" button.

Magazines and media mail are a gray area, as I understand it. Your MM package should contain no advertising, and magazines contain advertisements. But, if the magazine is 20 - 30 years old and all of the companies that placed ads in the magazine are out of business, do they really count? Technically it's probably not allowed.

Personally, I've always shipped Dragons and other mags via Media Mail and taken my chances. Yes, they're subject to inspection, but the postal inspectors (like most of us, probably), can tell just by the heft of a package if the contents have the density of paper/books (which magazines do). If the package comes from a residential address, the likelihood that you're sending 10 pounds of promotional flyers is low. And even if someone did look, I bet they'd let it pass. I've done it at least 20 times with no problems.
