Actually we invited Jim Ward to this year's Con and he seemed interested, but I don't think he had the time to attend due to other commitments.

I have extended an invitation to him again for 2010, Since he, Frank, Tim and others are working together on a new project, I am hoping he will hear from them how fun it was and come next year.

I really didn't expect to get commitments this early before the next Con, but hey, when I do, I post 'em at the forum so everyone knows.

I currently can't send any more invitations since we have 5 committed to attend and I have invitations pending for: Paul Jaquays, Jim Ward, Darlene Pekul, Mike Carr, Jim Holloway

Have to limit the special guests from 6-10 so we are about there

Well, on the site (http://nortexcon.com) you can see I have the registration set to 150... but the facility can hold 200 at least.

We really don't expect but 100-125 next year, but you never know... Mike's expectation of 10-15 this year and mine of 30-40 were both a bit low...

We had 72 sign up, but only 53 attend... though since it was free this year, I expected more sign ups than attendees since there was nothing invested for anyone just signing up.

For 2010, we plan to have 7 gaming tables, with 5 scheduled games per game session for a total of 25 scheduled gaming sessions. The additional 2 tables will be for open gaming, pickup games etc. Also, there is room for more tables, we just don't want to crowd anyone this next year... this year's room was bulging, you wont see that in 2010... lots of space

As long, long promised, here is a actual page from the classic Caverns of Thracia drawn by Paul and given to us to help defray costs of the North Texas Role Playing Game Convention. Along with this page are four limited edition art prints of dragons. These were all donated and all sale costs go to next year's shindig. Please email me if you have any questions!

Thanks to everyone who bid on items in the recent Paul Jaquays artwork auction....the money is basically a direct donation to the NTRPG Con. And congrats to Prufrock for scoring the page from Caverns of Thracia, now Martin owns a piece of RPG history!

There are still two art prints from Paul Jaquays to action off, these will go up in October.

BTW we are thinking of perhaps changing the focus of NTRPG Con next year, actually I haven't told Doug yet, I'm still working up a proposal. But maybe next year we could invite these folks and have some sort of joint get together? They are apparantly based in Texas, and know how to have a good time...!

Look forward to getting my first piece of Paul's art. I hope to have many more. Once I get it, I will decide if I want a paper conservator to check the water damage and see if anything can be done about it. I then intend to have it mounted and framed appropriately.

Looking forward to next year's NTRPGcon.

Before I clicked on the link, I figured you were sending us to some page about the Cowboys cheerleaders. THAT'S who you guys should invite! You can tell them it's a charity event, and don't forget to suggest they wear chainmail versions of their outfits :idea:

I laughed so hard when I found that while trolling for local cons, I had to share. It seems kind of dangerous to roll with the furry lifestyle here in Texas, with all the locals carrying, I'm surprised someone hasn't potshotted a few of these guys....

I'll remember that...

We have done work on the Dallas Cowboys network at the old stadium and at the Valley Ranch location. (not at the new stadium)

At Valley Ranch, the door we come through takes us down the hallway with the long window that looks into the training room where the cheerleaders practice... and some of their practice outfits are skimpier than the game outfits

I could see if we can get a cheerleader at a discount... though how much off the $2000.00 daily fee we can save I don't know... I just can't see us making back that $2000.00 with ashmire showing up...
