What's that?

Hector.

Looks like a homebrew/fan generated variant.  You can down load a copy here:  http://grognardia.blogspot.com/2008/10/another-holmes-companion.html

Heh, that auction intersperses text taken verbatim from the introduction on my site, including the colored fonts and a mention of "myself included".  I'm glad someone found it useful. 8)

Meepo's Companion is only four pages long but was one of the first 'modern' expansions for Holmes Basic, first put together way back in 2007.
It even has its own RPGGeek page: The Holmes Companion | RPG Item | RPGGeek

Zenopus Archives website & blog: Exploring the Underworld of Holmes Basic D&D. Holmes Ref: Reference Sheets for Holmes Basic Referees, also compatible with OD&D plus the Greyhawk supplement

One of the lowest prices I've recently seen for a sealed Silver Anniversary Collector's Edition.

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Without the terrible global shipping, I would have probably bought.

Usually avoid items that have been colored in, but these appear to be nicely done  :colors:

Except that the Blue Dragon is breathing fire ... maybe it's a hybrid ;-)

"Okay, we turn the corner and see a Purple 'WHAT' !?!" . . (the DM rolls a 20 or so he says) . . It all went black right after that.

Very sorry. I would have known you were looking for one, I would have happily sent a pm to inform you.

Maybe a special thread here where our fellow members list their most wanted items would be useful.

Sometimes members use the classified for wanted items, but these are quickly flooded by the other posts.

yeah that Global shipping program is a complete rip-off. I had no idea what that entailed and found out it came down to Ebay's "third-party" shipper charging exorbitant fees for "packing" items (if you can call it that) in RE-USED envelopes with non-existent padding/cardboard, etc. It's a complete joke. For anything valuable, don't use that shipping program. They probably would've shipped that Silver anniversary box in a plastic grocery bag and called it a day!

Erm, guys; I presume you know what you're up to. Print still does means print, albeit DCS's personal copy from a presumed-tiny run, signed, CoA'd, kinda iconic and all that jazz. :)

(Adding this post after a couple of PMs just in case anyone's missing the precise context vs. the original drawing and 10 years of inflation).

Generally speaking I would love to read David's PMs -  not that I think you have a very small mischievous streak of course David!!

just wondering if whoever bought this could tell me, is the print actually autographed by Dave? or were any of them actually signed? or was it just the accompanying certificate that he signed?

their description says..'used'  :D a little on the general side of things

i would offer a more accurate description...'trashed' but! some of those coffee stains might have been made by Gygax, or one of the other assorted demigods..

This looks nice

** expired/removed eBay auction **

I asked and it includes ref sheets as well (not in the pics).

I wonder a bit about the shipping? It seems very reasonable for insured shipping internationally ... but (and here is the worry) would I also be charged import duties (even though it is printed material, which is zero rated in the UK?). The little question marks on the auction page seem to indicate that it would go through the ebay global shipping programme, which is notoriously bad for international buyers. I am a little wary of bidding and suddenly seeing the estimated import charges jump up to $750 (!!)  Of course if the seller were happy to ship normally with insurance that would make this much more tempting  :)
