Which WoTC 3/3.5E books are worth buying? Are any of them valuable? I've been given the op' to buy wholesale stock at wholesale prices, but I haven't got a skooby what 3/3.5E is worth buying up. TSR is not my end of the market. Can anyone offer a snapshot of the WoTC products that are solid performers?

Also, is anyone looking for anything in particular? I'll do my best to compile a list of things people here are looking for.
Is that rules compendium 3.5E or 4E? Worth buying up stock?

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Apparently, the best 3.5 books are the core books: the PHB and DMG. Beyond that, Spell Compendium and Magic Item Compendium. Some third party stuff, but not too much... like Tome of Horrors I, II, and III.

The rules compendium is very good, I use it alot in our 3.5 games.

Games can get you through times of no money but money can not get you through times of no games!!

Seconding what has been said by Serleran, the PHB and DMG (with the map/hexes still attached) are solid sellers. The Spell Compendium and Magic Item Compendium also fetch a good price.

Others: PHB II, The Complete Adventurer, The Complete Divine, The Expanded Psionicist's Handbook, Monster Manual V.

Fast Forward Games' Book of All Spells, since people may confuse that with the WotC Spell Compendium.

Generally Not: DMG II, any 3.0, Forgotten Realms anything, Eberron anything.

Top Tier 3.5 Books: PHB, DMG, Spell Compendium, Magic Item Compendium.

Second Tier 3.5 Books: Complete Divine, Complete Warrior, Complete Mage, Sandstorm, Frostburn, Stormwrack, Complete Arcane.

Forgotten Realms - If you love the setting, get the books. For most people the FR setting is either love it or hate it...

So are any of the MM any good? Only the MM5 is recommended, so are they needed?

Or is this more a case of what books are worth owning for the future?

Ashmire, I didn't bother with MM5 because I didn't like the direction MM4 took. MM3 and Fiend Folio are awesome, though IMO. Of course, your milage may vary.
(This is my opinion on the actual content, not as to whether they are worth buying to resell, if that's what you're after!)

Have you considered looking at the Pathfinder RPG*? It could be considered "3.75" or "3.P", and resolves some of the problematic rules like grappling. And upgrades the basic classes so that they are more on a level with some of the classes from later books. The PfRPG is also designed to be backwards-compatible with most of the 3.x books.
* You can get a PDF for $10 if you're unsure, or just look in your LGS.

Paizo has also produced four 3.5 adventure paths (campaigns) and are now producing adventure paths for the PfRPG.
Supposedly, there will be a pathfinderised version of the Tome of Creatures released at some point.

I just wish we could find out if the buyer actually pays or if this is someone just screwing around. I saw this top $100 and looked at the bid history...just can't come up with a good reason for it.
