Like the people who bought 4E didn't know they were gonna get stiffed?
They saw it happen to the 3/3.5E guys and were they really stupid enough to think they weren't gonna face the same fate?
The reaction by the 4E players is pretty hilarious, but they some of those muppets will now buy their entire collection again in 5E and bend over the table so they're ready to get screwed again in 2014.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

I'm a sucker for watching all the "get off my lawn!" drama that's sure to be happening. And now it will be the 4e folks' turn to act all grumpy about "their" edition.

Also, let's call it like it is: all of our collections are about to get slightly more valuable. New edition -->> lots of media exposure -->> lots of new 40-somethings with disposable cash getting all nostalgic about the 1e and 2e days -->> increased sales (at least temporarily).

There won't be a Paizo carrying the 3.5 torch ahead, 4th ed will die and death quicker than any other edition. It really was a terrible incarnation of the game

Roll Tide! Again. Poor LSU only got the ball across the 50 once... then got it rammed right back to the 48 with a forced fumble.

I expected to win, but not to win spotting 50 yards! :twisted:

It's sad but, the hard economic times of the last few years have been the best thing that's ever happened to my growing collection. Especially the last year.

I feel bad for any who had to sell because they had to, but know that this new home will protect and cherish.

My dream is to collect the entire TSR product line through 2nd edition and donate it all to a major library, perhaps the Library of Congress, so that all posterity may understand the game that stirred our hearts and helped define an age of media and creativity.

I finally got around to getting my Erol Otus print framed.
Mine is number 12 and I chose a wide frame covered in black leather with a dark charcoal matte. The glass is low glare archival quality glass.
I am very happy with the picture and am looking forward to seeing the sample artwork for the next project.

That looks fantastic. The frame and matte really do make the colours pop.

Fantasy artists try to make their work look too realistic, as ironic as it sounds.
Artwork like that above by Erol Otis, and other works in that vein, bring out a sense of "fantasy" that I don't see in most genre art.

Like the old sic-fi novels in the 50s, this type of art (Otis's) evokes a sense of wonder.

I don't want my art to look like a real battlefield.
If I wanted that I'd watch a documentary.

I don't understand it either, but my wife doesn't get my D&d collecting either. I asked her if she would be willing to accompany me to NTRPG Con next year, and she answered: "as long as you don't dress up a la Comic Con, it's fine"
