yeah i agree. the other shop i went to in manchester was travelling man too. equally crap. it used to have a huge load of 2nd hand gaming stuff and not just D&D/AD&D. when i looked there, the whole bookcase was just sat there empty at the back of the shop!!!!!!!!!!!!

why the hell didnt they fill it with something else??!!! talk about an eyesore.

again youre right - no soul to the shop at all - quiet and unassuming. very boring.

the other shop mind you - as malc says, its CCGs which are the money here. as much as i either liked the shop or not - it was buzzing. there were lots of folk in there and all the gaming tables were full. they didnt have tons of gaming stuff, but they had some and the shop isnt big either.

but while i can see/agree with malcs comment, i do honestly think they would benefit from what carl says. and if the gaming tables did other things than just card games too, it would allow folk to SEE what the other stuff is like, instead of someone simply looking at a book and going "meh" and putting it back on the self. a great way of selling yourself imo.

and these places are like anything else - its a word of mouth thing. collectors tend to be like that. if its THAT good, folk will come to see what all the fuss is all about.

and there is enough people that go in that shop, that he could easily advertise to get 2nd hand stuff. the buy/sell/exchange thing if you will. it would give the shop a little more soul and much more variety too and stay diverse enough to keep a lot more interest there. i would pay cash for something uncommon/rare and it would make me go there, if i knew that things may crop up with regularity.

I'm not sure what is up with the following listing, but it came up in Auction Sieve under "Tactical Studies Rules".

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 0242062382

He has some hidden (white) text at the bottom of the page (right above the Turbo Lister icon) preceded by "eBay spam test".

Could that be considered a case of key word spamming?

I'd say yes. I've reported him anyway. For those who wish to as well, here's all his auctions with keyword spamming broken up into handy 10-item blocks (the max you can report at once):

What can I say? I greatly dislike keyword spammers. (Though not as much as those who just copy and paste Wikipedia articles into the auction listings.) :)

For the curious, I used:

Listing policy violations -> Keyword spamming -> Hidden text or code used to promote an item

for the reporting categories.

http://www.trolllord.com/newsite/cncsoc ... ation.html

Has anyone else here ever tried to join the Castles and Crusade society over at Troll Lord Games?

I have tried several times over the past year+.  I have never gotten a reply.

In fact, the Troll Lord has not replied to queries on a variety of other topics, including iquiries about pre-orders for Castle Zagyg products.

I did once succeed in making a large order for their D20 products, but it took...like...three repeat emails or so to get a response.

I even tried calling once...at a time when an Eastern Time establishment should have still been open...but no one answered the phone and no one replied to my message.

Anyone else?

I'm sorry. I have only recently (officially) taken over the Society and am running it now. When it was first started, there was no expectation of a reply, but I am trying my best to do so whenever I get an email asking for joining -- please do so at ccsociety [at] gmail period com -- the website is woefully outdated (and it will be replaced when the Society has an updated one) which is a huge priority for us. I lack the technical skills needed to revamp it myself, so have been asking for assistance but it is slow in coming. We have our own forums: C&CS Forums As you can tell, if you visit, we are doing, and trying, a variety of things.

As to the Trolls not replying -- I cannot say as to why, but this is Con Season and they are always, always slow during it. It is generally best to call if something is needed, but I know for an absolute fact that Castle Zagyg is coming. If you have a problem, you can PM me, and I will handle it as best I can as quickly as I can -- the Trolls do not try to purposefully ignore or mistreat any customer or individual.

If there is something I can do more directly, please let me know -- I would not want you to think we don't care as that is simply far from the truth.

Thanks.

Thank you.

My group has also recently presented Troll Lord Games with our request for membership to the C&C Society.

We understand the heavy schedule that must come for them with involvment in GenCon.
We shall wait for the reply that will surely come once the folks at TLG have time to review our request for instalation as a society member group.

Link works now, thanks -- I dropped the H in the URL start.

Also, please do not use the email address provided on the Society webpage as that is not the right one. The correct email address is ccsociety@gmail.com

The first wave of website changes is correcting that.

Again, I am sorry for any problems. I will work to rectify them as best I can.

Oh, and one other thing -- this weekend is Troll Con, which is a local event so they are likely busy finalizing the last minute details / items for the convention. June - August is hell for anyone, myself included, that tries to contact the Trolls.

I know it sucks.

Just in case you've not heard the buzz.

For all you Joss Weldon (Buffy/Angel/Firefly) fans.  A 40 minute Superhero musical: free to watch until the 20th.  The quality is amazing, and well, damn parts are funny as hell.

For any Harn collectors/fans: N. Robin Crossby, creator of HarnMaster, has passed away.

http://www.kelestia.com/

Seems to be a bad year for RPG creators.
