I thought much the same when first seeing that picture.
No wonder the Klingon's cannot stand to sit at the conference table to talk peace (or anything else for that matter).
They likely would have bloody knees within seconds, quickly followed by bloodletting in other places.
Not sure, but I would think sitting at that table would tend to piss a Klingon right off and perhaps it was designed that way on purpose.

Although the desk was made for just one episode of Enterprise, it is both enormous and incredibly heavy.  The legs are metal, and the top is made from two solid planks of wood.  The panels on the three sides in front are screwed on, cannot be moved, and hurt like the dickens if you bump into them.  Fortunately, the back of the desk doesn't have a panel, so I can sit behind it without a problem (which is where I am now).  On the other hand, the metal wire they used to "texture" the desk has some sharp edges, and by no means can be considered child-safe.  It was clearly designed more for appearance than comfort.  On the other hand, how many people get to work at an authentic Klingon desk?  It's certainly the most intimidating desk I have ever seen.  

In the episode it appeared in, it's actually a Klingon judge's desk.  I didn't know that when I bought it at the auction.  Not being a huge fan of Enterprise, I had to buy the relevant season on DVD so I could watch the episode and see it in use.
