Well, Vecnapoop or whoever sent me an email from the hotmail addres.. It honestly looks like the ramblings of a crazy man.  You can't even reason with this kind of nuttiness. And I have no idea what the "Last time I told you..." crap comes from, unless he's mistaking me for Guido?  All other online dealers be warned!!!

Well Mike.

Last time I told you exactly what you did and you came back with a bunch of smart-mouth nonsense. So this is pretty much the only way to get through to you.

See, there are auctions on ebay for items that are quite happy to get sold to an end user without having to be price-fixed by the likes of you. When you bid on and win those auctions that you just plan on reselling, you add a second postage fee, a second paypal fee, and a second ebay fee. In many cases the item almost doubles in price. If you don't win, well, you've still managed to price fix the item so that your high-priced nonsense almost seems competitive.

Economics BS. Over both of our heads. Let me put it another way.

The other day I lost a few dollars because of your horseshit for an item you don't even want. So if I lose money, you lose money. Or at the very least, you lose time. Plan on spending quite a bit of time having to process non-paying bidder complaints. Until you stop, it's going to get relentless. I'm tired of your crap. People on the internet don't owe you a living. You provide no product. You provide no serivce. You're a filthy middle man. A leech on society when our economy is already tanking.

Don't bother with a response. I'm not even going to read it.

Mike, you ought to send him a message and tell him he's not so scary now that you know who he is.  And make sure that you address him as Nick.   Something to the tune of, "Hi Nick, I don't really find you so scary since I know who you are and where you live.  Hiding behing fake IDs isnt really doing you too much good now is it..."

Bust his ass, Mike. Send eBay all of this stuff, including the email headers from that comically delusional missive.

It's one thing to lose a fake account that the guy only had for three hours ... losing an account that has been around since 2000 will hurt a lot more.

Yeh you guys are right.  Smarmy cooled me down and talked me out of either driving to the Tarlton Springs Fl trailer park he lives in and beating his ass, or shadowing his next 100 auctions he bids on and sniping every win at the last minute...dumb, but fun.

But yeh, I'll be making a call to Ebay customer support tomorrow, and laying out all the evidence (threatening email, bogus accounts, email address on myspace indicating Tarlton Springs, fact that Monte Hall is in Tarlton springs, his About Me page rant, fact I just beat him out on an auction, etc).  His DNA is all over this...CSI would have him bagged and tagged by now.

Then again....since we KNOW who Vecnapoop is now....it would be a shame to ruin that almost 100% positive feedback...?

No, no, no, musn't go to the dark side......

What a hypocritical tool Nick/MonteHall/Vecnapoop is...

Here is his About Me page:

A few things about me for anyone that cares (as well as anyone who doesn't)

1)      I regularly report sellers who sell pirated d20 or WOtC e-books. I enjoy watching their userids get suspended. As an aspiring author in this field, I find it disgusting and offensive that people can't find a better way to earn a living. For anyone interested, just go to www.shareaza.net or alt.binaries.e-book.rpg (USENET) to download as many PDF e-books as you like for free. Please don't support the jokers on ebay selling them.

2)      I will never overcharge for shipping. I charge exact shipping plus $1.50 for a good padded envelope. Shipping charges are supposed to cover costs, not pad profits. For the guys who charge $5 or $6 (or worse) and only spend $2, I try to leave appropriate feedback. If everyone did that, it would stop.

3)      I do not sell to or buy from occupational resellers. I think that outbidding buyers on single items for the sole purpose of reselling them is a poor way to earn a living. It is a waste of time, USPS fees, ebay and paypal fees, and leads to price fixing (by jacking up the prices of other auctions so that they match yours). (Of course it is fine to resell items you're not using anymore or to buy large lots that no one else is interested in for the purposes of breaking them up; but outbidding other users on single items just to resell them is creating a redundant middle-man position that ebay already fills).

4)      I've NEVER earned negative/neutral feedback from a buyer. I never will. Whatever the problem is, it is my obligation as a seller to make it right.

5)      I suppose with my attitude, I'll earn quite a bit of negative feedback from sellers. That's fine. Potential buyers will probably be encouraged if they see vindictive feedback from unscrupulous sellers, so bring it on.

If after reading the above as a seller or a buyer you'd rather remove either my bid or yours for no other reason than because you feel like it, I give you my blessing.

Now, compare the statement in BOLD with his feedback...he's purchased from every big reseller on Ebay, including Reindergamez!  What a hypocritcal bullshit artist.  Only when you outbid him on something he wants does he get all postal...

Ping Scott and see if you can get the email address he used to sign up here.  I have kind of hit a dead end, but perhaps if I can get that info, I can do more damage.

LAWL!

I've actually bid on two of the items on his list ... AND I've challenged him to come join this thread (although I had no idea at the time that he was an Acaeum member). I would place bids on all three items he's currently seeking, but I just can't bring myself to bid on any book written by Ru Emerson.

I'll stalk this asshole until I inevitably get bored with it. He's pretty good at handing out the threats; let's see how he likes the receiving end.

I actually had the same existential crisis...my finger wavered on the "confirm bid" button...but sanity overtook me on that one....

Doesn't that statement on his About Me page about how he'll NEVER get a negative from a buyer just scream out for an ass kicking?

"outbidding other users on single items just to resell them is creating a redundant middle-man position that ebay already fills"

His premise is not true. Some sellers want to unload stuff in a hurry, others are willing to keep it for sale year after year. The latter provide a valuable service reflected in price.

If I want something for a low price, I invest the time & effort to watch for it on ebay, a process taking months for each individual title. If I don't want to, I can choose to pay a premium to find it quickly. What's the problem?

His a hypocritical piece or shit.  He uses that line of bullshit as a convenient excuse.  I can only think his life is very, very difficult because in our lives we deal with all sorts of middlemen in every endeavor.  So I assume he doesn't patronize virtually any establishment that makes money off marking up goods...which includes restaurants, grocery stores, second hand stores, used bookstores, shops that resell CDs or DVDs, etc.  No, I think he only gets his panties in a wad when he is personally outbid on something and has to justify his illogical rage, much like a small child blames someone else for his temper tantrum.  And, don't forget, he has found it convenient to utilize the "evil middleman" many many times himself.

I've decided against reporting this moron to Ebay for the short term..although I can at any time.  He deserves a more personal, hands on ass kicking now that I know exactly who he is.  I'd rather have him right in my sights instead of having his id cancelled and his starting a new one we possibly won't be able to track. It's going to be impossible for him to buy ANYTHING on ebay in the near future without me outbidding him (since he seems to go for the cheap deal that won't be very hard).

Ok, he can have the Ru Emerson novel.....there are some lines I just cannot cross..... 8O

Also he occasionally sells stuff, I'd love to buy something from him (or get someone else to do so) to get his exact contact information.  Ebay is not going to be a very fun place for him in the near future....

I also contacted him last night with the heading "Nick/mr-monte-hall" in the email, asking him very politely to please desist threatening Acaeum members or he would be turned into Ebay authorities.  At that point, I would imagine a sinking feeling enveloped him as he realized the jig is up. I would have to say he's probably crapping out a brick right now....I picture a frantic, wild eyed look as he is clutching his head saying "oh crap, oh crap, oh crap", trying to wipe up the DNA he spread all over the crime scene.  Too little, too late dude.

Hey, I'll be honest, here. I don't like it when I get outbid by one of you reseller guys on something I really wanted, but I figure I couldn't have wanted it all that much if I got outbid (or, maybe Im just much more poor than I thought, or have really crappy appraisal skills...) Why? Because I know a reseller doesn't really care... they just want to buy it, turn around and sell it again and make some money. Me: I want the item... to use it, not to say "ooh, cha-ching!" :) But, I don't like getting outbid, ever, cause then I have to go on the hunt again. Sniper bastards. ;)

well not really wanting to get dragged into all this, but isnt all this kinda what an auction is all about? you can bid on it if you like. what you want it for is your business. what you decide to do with it is your business etc.

one word of advice for ANYONE who gets grumpy like this getting outbid, is NEVER go to GenCon. simple as.

troll & toad has a toady sat right at the front most of the day buying up inventory for their site. happens most of the day and they win tons. i wouldnt be surprised for one second if they were not the only one tbh.

but hey, they have their limits and everything is still fair play if youre willing to pay for it. but in the end, thats the purpose of an auction.

car dealers go to car auctions all the time. what do they do with all the cars? oh yes thats right, they get put on show for ppl to see, not to buy of course, you can't do that!

sheesh. how silly.

Al
